You tell me.
Personally the song isn't as strong, but the MV on the other hand. Golden.

I love mocking people at my school (that claim to be Psy fans) about the fact tat they don't even know he has a new single.

I think both song and video might need to grow on me a bit more, but the song is already stuck in my head. It's funny, too, because if this has been released instead of Gangnam Style I'd be all over it, but now I'm looking for similarities and it's impeding my enjoyment. I'm sure there is no way it will be as successful as Gangnam Style, but he did a good job anyway and I hope it'll be successful in Korea at least.

The video is hilarious in an odd way, but I really enjoyed the song. This man is a beautiful creature.

Are all the people "famous" ?
I think I've recognized who Plum means, is it the same girl at around 1:45 with the G on her shirt ? She (also) seems familiar.

It's the exact same thing again, just this time there's no catchy tune in it.

The main girl in this video (at the gym, dancing with him, eating with him) is Son Ga-In from Brown Eyed Girls. The dance for this song is basically just a dance Brown Eyed Girls got famous for. She also has a solo career under just the name Gain/Ga-In, and she is magical.
From what I understand some famous people came back and there were also some new ones, so yeah, it's full of celebrity cameos again.

I think the music video way outshines the song, but the video lacks the energy of Gangnam Style. It was kind of funny just seeing PSY be a dick, but they dropped it. The song is catchy, if a little more generic k-pop to Gangnam Style's generic American-pop sound. I don't know. I'm not blown away, I guess.
From what I got, he was a dick and then he meets a girl who does the same thing as him, so he falls in love and they run off into the magical rainbow Korean sunset. Or something like that.

Gangnam Style was so popular because it felt rather spontaneous. In this one it almost felt like there was someone behind the scenes yelling "THAT'S NOT FUNNY ENOUGH. DO IT AGAIN, GODDAMNIT". Hence a major lack of energy in comparison.
I do like that they're basically trying to bring the Abracadabra dance to the rest of the world, but the little sideways horse-gallop dance hybrid / rehash is, once again, too try-hard.
I want this to do well in Korea, but I really hope it doesn't catch on with the rest of the world the same way Gangnam Style did.

Psy has always just been doing his thing, really. If anything I love that he didn't alter it just to suit the world. He kept Korean celebrities, made a very culturally Korean video, and sang in Korean. If he had come back with a Ke$ha collaboration I'd agree, but nah, Psy's just being Psy.

Rally, I actually disagree. I mean, I think Gangnam Style actually had more elaborately set up gags than this video did. I honestly think if this had been released first we'd all go bonkers over it and if Gangnam Style had come second we'd say THAT video was trying too hard.
That doesn't necessarily say anything good about either video, though.
Anyway, I think if this came before Gangnam Style, I think the music video would be pretty different.

Plus, Gangnam Style was HUGE in Korea, so I'm almost inclined to think he would have put out the same release even without the worldwide success. I feel like he's mostly pandering to Korea, if anything, but the style of this is basically just in line with what he was doing before.
The truth is there is no way to follow up a freak success like Gangnam Style with anything that people won't then compare unfavorably or rag on him for. He could have pandered a hell of a lot more than he did, and I respect that he didn't.

I can totally give you that.
And I'll admit that it's really, really tough to approach this song and video without having to compare to Gangnam Style. I think it's just my inner fear of it going viral and being forced to hear it daily for 6+months.

Haha! I'm happy for him on one hand, but the ignorant crap I've had to listen to people say about him. Good Lord. Another six months of that might make me smack a stranger.

Right Now is still my favorite PV.
The only thing that makes me laugh are those calling him one hit wonder like he hasn't had a long and fruitful career in Korea.

Seriously, those screaming idiots make me regret calling myself a KPop fan because I don't want to be associated with them.

I don't know how new it is, but I know that's why Harlem Shake got its number one awhile back.
edit - did a quick search, looks like it's been going on since February. The HOT 100 chart is the only one though, it seems.

Can't decide if I hate this song or what.
Talk about an odd couple tho.
