Also an exodus of Morning Musume members. At least three, maybe four, will graduate over the course of the year-- Mizuki, Iikubo, Sakura and possibly Masaki. Without any stable singers left, MM becomes arguably one of the worst sounding groups under H!P.

We don't have a specific thread for her hiatus, but there are new Maho goods.
So....
Edit: nah never mind this ho admitted it's not recent

Angerme's getting too crowded. Time to jettison the older members. I predict a joint Kana and Rina graduation next year. And maybe Akari.
(I know, I know, more wishful thinking than actual prediction.)

Morning Musume: Makino Maria injury, absent from the 2018 fall tour. Yokoyama Reina-leaded song. MM performs once at Yokohama due to Budokan being under construction. Resurrection of MiniMoni.
Angerme: Katsuta Rina graduates to pursue fashion. Aiai graduation from the group declared without her return. Reaches an Oricon #1 and decides to have a concert in America and Hong Kong. 4 Members of Angerme are designated to be the new S/mileage alongside being members of Angerme.
Juice=Juice: Finally comes to America in LA, Chicago and New York in April 2018. Yuka graduates from the group at the H!P summer concerts and gets married in late 2018. Danbara and Yanami get a bus tour. Second album is released.
Country Girls: Ozeki Mai graduates from H!P. Inaba Manaka rejoins CG with a 3rd gen solo member added.
Kobushi Factory: Ayapan is canned. 4nin Kobushi is thought of as a failure and a 2nd gen (which includes Horie Kizuki) is added. They have a rough, rough year sales-wise and staff reprimands them constantly but the group stays constant.
Tsubaki Factory: Has a live tour for Spring 2018. Kiki returns to the stage for their live tours. They have a breakout hit and are considered the superior Factory.... Though they perform more C-ute songs than Berryz.
Reina's Group: Is declared the special 20th anniversary "dream group" and promoted as hell. They cover songs from every group and are expected to be the next best thing via staff.
KSS: About 3 girls leave KSS to do not debuting. 8 graduate from the program to debut in H!P. They change their name back to H!P kids for the 20th anniversary.
Extra: H!P tries to reignite (AKA re-live and copy) the Golden Era. It's a semi-success in the wota's eyes but we'll all feel it was a bit of a cop-out and nothing actually impressive for two decade's worth of entertainment. Elder's club is reformed to keep all the new members that have joined M-line in the past couple years active. Sayashi returns for some 20th anniversary event and announces her solo debut in H!P.... Fans go wild. This is enough to make the year a success.

We are about two thirds of the way through the year now... A few people had some really good guesses that came true!
Which ones?

KSS member Inoue Hikaru left after not being selected for the new groups.
Tsunku writing songs again.
Someone else said one of the new girls from the audition drafted into KSS would leave. One of them did. Also one of the Hokkaido girls would debut. We have TWO Hokkaido girls debut. Inaba and one into a new group.

You’ve got it backwards, 2 KSS from the last audition left (the Kyuushuu girls Sayaka and Momoka), and 1 Hokkaido girl debuted - although I don’t know if I would really count Manakan as a Hokkaido girl, she’s kind of a special case.

Morning Musume: Resurrection of MiniMoni - for the Hello Morning 20th Anniv special.
Angerme: Aiai graduation from the group declared without her return.
Reaches an Oricon #1 anddecides to have a concert inAmerica andHong Kong and France and Taipei and Seoul.Juice=Juice: Second album is released.
Country Girls: Inaba Manaka
rejoins JUICE-JUICE, whoops.Kobushi Factory: so far, no doomsday.
Tsubaki Factory: Has a live tour for Spring 2018. Kiki returns to the stage for their live tours. Jury's still out on music quality? Regardless, it seems that *all* groups are getting interesting PVs.
Not bad!

Oh I knew Sayaka left, but not the other. Manaka wasn't in KSS Hokkaido, but she was part of H!P Hokkaido activities... But yes, definitely a special case. You’ve got it backwards, 2 KSS from the last audition left (the Kyuushuu girls Sayaka and Momoka), and 1 Hokkaido girl debuted - although I don’t know if I would really count Manakan as a Hokkaido girl, she’s kind of a special case.Someone else said one of the new girls from the audition drafted into KSS would leave.
