Wow, I can poo on Ayu's last Countdown Live and Party Queen, but the Power of Music tour she did last year looks amazing. I had heard she toned it down after the tsunami, but this is a new level of acoustic. I am definitely going to watch it.

Most relaxing music ever. aka. Songs to put you to sleep. (And i'd have to agree on a few of these I've heard.)

1. Marconi Union - Weightless
2. Airstream - Electra
3. DJ Shah - Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix)
4. Enya - Watermark
5. Coldplay - Strawberry Swing
6. Barcelona - Please Don't Go
7. All Saints - Pure Shores
8. Adelev - Someone Like You
9. Mozart - Canzonetta Sull'aria
10. Cafe Del Mar - We Can Fly

Marty Friedman posted this on his facebook not to long ago. I have to go to work now so I can't read it, but it's like a Q&A about What is Jpop.

Only read about half so far but it's very interesting and he makes some very pertinent points about singing styles.

It's good that somebody from such a different musical background (and I'm a bit of a Megadeth fan myself) can be so open-minded about such a totally different type of music, especially one that is liable to get raised eyebrows from your contemporaries (and I think we've all been there  )

I think the Marty article needs its own thread. Could provoke interesting discussion, while in the spam thread it languishes.

Is it cool or embarassing to like Ayumi Hamasaki these days? A er...um... friend, that's it, a friend has started listening to her stuff and I he likes what he hears.

Ditto. I think she really started to peter out around late 2009-2010. Her big live shows are cool to watch, but her live singing is deteriorating.

Might be because she can't hear what she's singing anymore, or something like that. Posted Image

There's only one song of him/them that I know, which has a pretty cool music video, it's something like "going deeper underground".
Song's mediocre, but the MV is really well done.

Yes but it's whether you are prepared to admit to other people that you like something .

How many people would be prepared to admit to owning every single record in their collection. I know I've got several guilty pleasures in mine :whistling:.

Hey y'all, I finished my Somebody That I Used To Know remix today! Check it out and download on SoundCloud. It features samples from Brian Brushwood and Justin Robert Young from their comedy album, "Night Attack" and you should go buy it because it (and they) is (and are) awesome.

As a close, personal friend I feel that you will totally understand when I say...

Get a grip woman, Queen will rot your brain and make you accept third rate performances as the norm and as fans of idols we will only stand for the very best.

It's time for a commercial break!

Takui Nakajima is releasing a self cover acoustic album! Details are forthcoming but this is his first album since Ultra Slacker II in 2009! And if you haven't checked him out yet, shame on you! You're missing one of the best voices in rock today! He also plays around with styles and genres, so try a variety of his stuff please!

He is also finally getting a live DVD release on June 6th! All of his tours get DVD releases, but they are only available to the Japanese through his official shop. For those who don't understand, this is his first concert wide release since his Chunky God Pop tour, which was released in 2003.

You guys have no clue how much I'm fangirling right now. NO CLUE. This is so freaking exciting~~~~!!!!!!

For some reason, I had the strange urge to listen to "Namida Girl" even though I haven't listened to it in years. And that was when I discovered (thanks to Youtube) that S/mileage did a cover.

It's good but not Mikitty.

EDIT: Now I'm nerd-reminiscing and watching all the Mikitty videos I can :danceman:
