I went ahead and booked a room at that Holiday Inn they list but, damn, it wasn't cheap. If I go, I'm planning on showing up that Thursday, so that extra night makes it even more expensive.

Also, estimated 8 hour drive. Ouch.

I so wish I could go. Unfourtunately, it's probably an extremely long drive and I could never convince my parents. Have fun whoever is going!!

That's like an hour and change away from me :w00t: I wouldn't even have to stay over. I never thought I'd be buying passes to an anime con again...

I just called up the Holiday Inn to book by phone (which is the way I like to do things) and the guy told me I'd booked the last room for that weekend. He may have meant the last single room, or the last non-smoking single room, or the last one with the kind of bed I asked for--who knows? They guy simply said, "There's one room left," at some point as I was booking--I forget at which point. In any event, I'm glad I didn't wait. Those who are planning to go but haven't booked yet should let us know what response they get when they try to book. There is another hotel in Somerset, the Double Tree, listed on the AnimeNext site, so maybe there's room there. I went with the Holiday Inn because that's where Usako and some of my other BK-fan friends will be staying.

You never know, they may find something they want to do there while you go to the concert.

You'd be surprised how well parents can react if you speak to them like an adult and explain why you want to go.

Be brave and give it a go, the worst thing they can say is no and the best is yes, either way you won't lose anything but you have a great experience to gain!

Mukuro lives in Canada. I doubt her parents would consent to a weekend trip to America. But hey, if all else fails say you want to see New York before the world ends in December of 2012 and take a side trip to New Jersey. Posted Image

Ew. :whatthe:

Yeah, too bad there's not more terrible, generic Korean groups coming to America, right?

I jest, since I know you've never liked Berryz, but the significance of this event is pretty great for some of us.

Yeah, but from the looks of it it's northernmost Jersey, just across the water from New York.

Oh, and I thought the "ew" was directed at New Jersey. :hahaha: (partially)

Sure, it's a fun tradition to hate Berryz, but they have improved vocally since 2004. Sadude, do you only like Buono! for Airi?

Buono! is not Berryz! Don't drag their beautiful name into this! :geof:

Buono! is 2/3 Berryz girls. You just can't escape this.
Similarly, Berryz is 2/7 Buono! girls.

:lesson: Yurina probably offsets the calculation slightly, but you get the idea.

2/3 of Buono! will be in NJ, That's great compared to the percentage of HANGRY&ANGRY present at Anime Expo! What's that, almost 17% closer to completion? :headscratch:

and a 66.666666666666666666666666666667% improvement on the Buono! members present at 2009 Stockholm Japan Expo. (would have rounded, but the 6s worked too well with the original intended smiley)

The power of math to kick ass.

Pretty hard to hate on Berryz if you like Buono!, just wear some ear plugs and look at Miyabi or Momoko.... :D

And you might need to give me a break on the whole American geography thing, New Jersey I believed was close enough to New Jersey to make an excuse for going to New York and then jumping on a train or taxi to the concert.

You'd have to take a ferry probably. Jersey it right across the water from New York.

In some parts of New Jersey you can spit on New York and makes for some pretty scenery at night. If you're the type that likes to look at big tall skyscrapers all day.

I'm too young to remember that. I learned about H!P in late 2009.

I unfortunately have listened to that song. I scrub my ears as hard as I could but they don't make water hot enough. Lol.
An USA48 audition would be quite an undertaking. I wonder how they would eliminate and how long it would take.

^ They won't. It's probably a good thing. Go on youtube and look up 'Watashi mo, I love you' and omg, the horror. Worst ever.

That said, they may have a USA48 audition eventually the way Aki-P is going.

No USA48!

If he does dare tread onto American soil. It'll be in Hawaii, California or New York. The company would need a place to set up a theater and those are the only three places I think they would be successful enough as a starting point. (More so for California or New York.) But in all honesty I hope it never happens. The horror! Posted Image

Anyway... how about them Berryz?!

I'm all open for NYC48, anyway is Berryz going to have a Q&A or something similar. I have never been to a H!P event so I am
not sure what goes on at these events. Is it true that they can accept gifts? I was thinking about making a photo collage of East coast sights in the members offical colors.
