I agree. It's the only single I can think of this year where *both* songs were different and strong enough to stand up on their own. Shinkirou Romance is also the second coming of Sankaku Kankei. And really, there's nothing better in the world than a song that makes you think Sankaku Kankei.

Yuko Nakazawa - Urara (only because I was SO FRIGGIN excited about her finally getting a new single after I wrote to her asking when another one was coming out =D. I know complete coincedence but I like to think I had a part in it. LOL)

Abe Natsumi - Amasugita Kajitsu

I think I gave this song the most playtime as far as singles are concerned.

This is tough, there were a lot of good singles this year, IMHO.

But the one that really blew my mind - and made me a C-ute fan - was Ookina Ai de Motenashite. So that's my nomination.

A rough top ten:

C-ute - Ookina Ai de Motenashite
Berryz Koubou - Munasawagi Scarlet
Tsukishima Kirari starring Kusumi Koharu - Balalaika
Morning Musume - SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~
Berryz Koubou - Waracchaou yo BOYFRIEND
Abe Natsumi - The Stress
v-u-den - Aisucream to My Purin
Abe Natsumi - Amasugita Kajitsu
Goto Maki - SOME BOYS! TOUCH
Morning Musume - Aruiteru

Jko, just when I thought I couldn't love you more. I love Sankaku Kankei. And I agree, Thanks! wins hands down for me because both the A-side and B-side were worthy of repeated, repeated plays.

I'm going to have to say Viyuuden's Aisu Cream to My Purin.

Song I've probably been the most addicted to out of all the other songs. I got addicted to it just from the damn 30 second commercial I first saw.

My second runner up would probably be either Nacchi's The Stress or GAM's Melodies. It's a hard god damn decision at all.

If I had to choose JUST one....Jiriri Kitteru.

That is truly how messed up 2006 was.

Morning Musume - SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~

Got into this world in the first place and I'm still rocking to it.

Close would have to be GAM- Thanks! and Melodies.

This is actually a suprisingly hard choice to make. There were quite a few singles I really liked this year, but not really any that I loved both the A-side and B-side. I liked both songs on Sexy Boy, but it didn't really stand out enough for me to call it the best single out of the whole year. I loved the a-sides for Glass no Pumps and Jiriri Kiteru, but both b-sides were so-so. Thanks! and Melodies were pretty good.

I suppose my two favorites were Abe Natsumi's The Stress and Maeda Yuki's Omae no Namida wo Ore ni Kure (though I doubt many people will mention that one ^^; ).

Balalaika, because Koharu rocks that much.
