10 bucks to see Kago sing a song or two? I'd pay it. It seems odd that she's part of a house music show, but it is being sponsored by KDDI Mobile. So that explains that.
Is she living in LA right now, or something? These Los Angeles events are a month apart, so it'd be odd if she were going back and forth from Japan. QUOTE former Guinness World Record holder. Oh no! The hula hoop record went down?! -------------------- ![]() What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert? LinLin: "I stop thinking and stare into nothingness." |

It'd be nice to have random interesting things happen where we live, but they never do. Everything seems to be in New York or L.A. -------------------- |

I'd so pay it too if I were more local. *jealous jealous jealous*
If any of your BBSers go take lots of pictures okay? ♥♥ QUOTE former Guinness World Record holder. Oh no! The hula hoop record went down?! I KNOW~~~ some bitch bumped them outta the book the following year. (IMG:style_emoticons/megamix_light/glare.gif) It's kinda funny they advertised that as a perk though. I guess that kinda looks cool on your resume... or not. This post has been edited by Usako: Jan 30 2010, 07:12 AM -------------------- ![]() Help me make the world a cuter place! MEG like Yasutaka Nakata's MEG?
That's more interesting than Kago. I mean, MEG's got a decent sized song library. -------------------- |

MEG like Yasutaka Nakata's MEG? That's more interesting than Kago. I mean, MEG's got a decent sized song library. That's not the case. If you look closely at the flyer and if you know much about house/rave flyers, they have the part that's in parenthesis under their name, that means they have an affiliation with a certain group of DJs or a certain promotion/booking company that ties them together. This is just a DJ that happens to be named MEG. Remember copyrights usually only exist for legal purposes in one country. There could be a music artist called "MEG" in every country, and there probably is, if not many. A lot of DJs nowadays don't put the "DJ" in front of their name, they just use another name they've chosen. -------------------- |

So excited, I got that flyer at a Karaoke bar I go to when I went out with Martini. Senor Fish is right in Little Tokyo and am down for a BBS meetup! :D

I kinda wouldn't mind going... I found $139 tickets from SF to LA. I need a place to stay though! HMMMMM...
I honestly don't know if Ai Kago is worth $150 to me. She used to be my favorite, but that was the fake her I liked. (IMG:style_emoticons/megamix_light/ph34r.gif) -------------------- |

(IMG:style_emoticons/megamix_light/lol.png) I wish I could go to this, but there's just no way I could spend the money to fly to L.A. to probably only see one song. Hopefully she'll be back to NY for KDDI and will give more notice. Re: her living in L.A. - she's still living in Japan. She tweets just about every hour, and has mentioned traveling back and forth a lot. -------------------- |

It doesn't sound like she's "performing." It just seems like she's making an appearance at some eatery that is being converted into a small music venue after-hours.
So, Senor Fish is basically a little Mexican joint in the redeveloped area of downtown LA. It is a pretty trendy neighborhood lately but parking is a bitch and judging from the yelp reviews, the servers are bitches too. I've never eaten here but I've been around this area a lot and I'm a little confused how they are going to turn the place into a little club at night -- those restaurants are all tiny. The upside is, if you're going to head out, you can probably mingle with Kago within a 5ft distance or less. |

I'd go to see Kago no matter what if it's in my area/Japan when I'm there.
She probably only will sing 2~3 songs and that's it. -------------------- Living and dying laughing and crying Once you have seen it you will never be the same Life in the fast lane is just how it seems Hard and it's heavy, it's dirty and mean |

It says "Special Performance" next to her name which has gotta mean something. I'd guess 1-2 songs. I mean she even sang a song at open mic at some New York bar just for fun, she'd probably sing something. -------------------- ![]() What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?
