TnB, don't worry about it, having an alternative translation at hand will help me a lot when editing or if I have any doubts. Starting from the next episode I'll ask that one make a quick post saying which part of the show they are working on currently and then edit it to paste the translation.

I'm halfway through timing what you all have posted. Still need a translation of the Sayu and Reina talk at the end of the episode, as well as the Japanese signs and writing that shows up (the girls' names etc.).

6:22 - when Reina is throwing the rope out. It's probably some onomatopoeia, but I made it into "Out with you!", is that ok?
8:51 - what Reina says in response to "Are you trying to become the Math Boss too?", before bumping into the group of girls.

This makes the following TO DO list:

1. Check the missing lines above.
2. Translate the dialogue at the end of the episode.
3. Translate the captions and signs.

Once that's done it's almost good to go, so don't let us down now.

Because it does not seem to be a Newton quote at all, haha. Unless my Internets are lying to me, it's the Japanese title of a maths book by one Lynn Steen, which in original is a reference to one of Newton's quotes, but it's not even close to what they put in the Japanese version.

Either way, I'll leave it as you have translated it, and I may or may not put a Translator's Note explaining that Newton never actually said that.

Ah, it's all right, we don't need full ending credits. At least not now - I promised myself to make it simple, quick and dirty, but I already couldn't help myself with the opening credits.

Unless you've already translated some of them, then skip everything after the "Ending Theme" caption, and only start again at 21:45 (Chief Producer etc.). Sorry, I should have been more clear on that.

Because it does not seem to be a Newton quote at all, haha. Unless my Internets are lying to me, it's the Japanese title of a maths book by one Lynn Steen, which in original is a reference to one of Newton's quotes, but it's not even close to what they put in the Japanese version.

Either way, I'll leave it as you have translated it, and I may or may not put a Translator's Note explaining that Newton never actually said that.

Yes, that's how it best translates. Technically where I used "founded" they used "で出来た" which is literally "made out of/made from." I did my best google searching and couldn't come up with any Newton quote either xD

For the rest of the episodes, of someone wants to do quick and dirty, main point kind of translations, especially if the math vocabulary gets more difficult, I'll take it and watch the episodes along side it and rewrite it into conversational English. I won't have the time to sit down and do the whole thing from scratch, most likely, but I should be able to completely tweak/edit a script in a couple of hours.

Sounds good. I only had to do a few edits to your script (and that mostly to fit the lines etc.), so you being the last in the translation chain will help a lot.

Does anyone here have access to the raw files before they pop up on the popular trackers? On the shady Japanese P2P networks, or whatever is in fashion now? I'm totally out of that loop, and we could benefit a lot from it, in both speed and quality. Only now people started uploading better quality raws to H!O, but it was too late for me to readjust everything.

Anyway, I'll start the next collab thread when the show airs. As long as I get the translation it should be pretty fast now, as half the work on this one was creating styles and other one-off tasks. I'll worry about doing karaoke once we get official lyrics and a translation on PH.

Good idea. We'll probably have song lyrics for the next episode, so I'll be redoing those parts a little. Maybe I'll plug all our affiliated sites somehow, like the show sponsors in the credits.

But I want the BBS to be displayed prominently still - for the fearful ones to come and confront their fears, for the butthurt ones to squirm in jealousy, and for the falsely accusing ones to feel as dumb as they deserve to.

Yup, want to keep it all in-house, so I'll wait for a PH version. I don't think the official lyrics are out anywhere yet, so other sites must be based on guesstimates from 2ch and they're often wrong.
