Risa's last single will be out in April. She's getting a special version, but she just gets a cover of an old song because she's not Takahashi. I doubt she'll get an MV, either.

Something posted on Hello Online. I think from some fanclub info.
That just means the Sayu era kicks off with their 50th single!!!
Also, there's a fan poll about who should be the next leader going around in Japan, but what the fuck? Also, in a recent interview they asked Haruka a question about who should be the next leader. After all of MM's history, why the hell WOULDN'T it be Sayumi, and why the hell are they even letting that idea get out there, unless my theory about Eri returning is shaping up to become more than that...
PS. Sayu's totally winning that poll by a landslide, followed by Aika, then Reina, and then Haruka!

I think it's because they didn't name a sub-leader this time around. Have they confirmed who will be the next leader yet? I'd feel awful for Sayumi if they decided to skip the seniority thing and toss it to Reina instead just because she's head front girl now.

Wait, so she can pick any song in H!P history as her solo?
I hope it's something random and unexpected, like Sheki-Dol or T&C Bomber.
If she goes with an MM album track, I'm thinking HOW DO YOU LIKE JAPAN!
or maybe even something from 4th! Ikimasshoi.
I think it's worth noting that she has done Never Forget as a solo in concert, and it is the "we like you but you didn't get to do very much in the group" exit song. Asuka->Kei->Risa
Well, Mako & Konno just got feather boas, a really horrible yellow outfit and interchangeable member solo pic covers. <-Meaning you can use 8 covers WITHOUT THEIR FACES.
Looking at the Never Forget clip also reminded me that she was in the 10th anniversary group. She could do one of those songs. She should do the goofy one that references MM (& H!P) songs in the lyrics.
You just know it's gonna be a solo LOVE MACHINE, why do we even get our hopes up.

I vote for Do it Now and then MM retires every single song from before Shabondama.

I'm predicting a Furusato solo because there hasn't been enough covers of that. Or maybe they'll bring back Never Forget and tweak the instrumental again. She can do an auto tune version since Tsunku is into that nowadays.
Or maybe she'll troll everyone and pick some random song from way back that's never been done. I am perfectly willing to accept Wagamama (Risa ver.) if it means I finally get a damn live of it.

I like AFOD. Last time they performed that must have ages ago.

I think it's because it's a Kago center song?
I could be WAY wrong of course

Shared, but yes, Kago is center enough. I love that song too.
Risa's cover is totally going to be something slow. Since the newbies joined it seems like she's completely abandoned silly energetic Risa in an effort to be seen as the most mature musume everrrrr.

I'm voting on something totally unexpected like Heike Michiyo.

On her blog Risa said her favorite c/w is Popcorn Love. Her favorite songs to sing in concert are How do You Like Japan and SONGS. She also really likes the Nanchatte Renai PV.
I'd wager that she'll either pick something nostalgic from when she first joined or one of the more mature songs they've done recently. I'd LOVE to have a Sayu-less Yowamushi. I love you Sayu but that song was...so not for you.
If not something MM, I could see it being another Nacchi song.

^KOHARU ALERT!!!
I felt like Juniuns version of furusato was pretty bad too. I never liked her voice.
But this is coming from the person who enjoys Aikas voice more than Rihos.

In my fantasy universe, she'd sing a W song, say, "Aa Ii Na" or "Miss Love Tantei."

In concert, probably uncountable. The Jun/Lin/Koharu/Aika version is one of the ones I remember most recently in addition to the Koharu attack above.
On CD / Non-Concert DVD / iTunes:
Morning Musume (the single)
Now With More Nacchi (her first album)
Sayaka and Yuko (Folk Songs 1)
Yuko (her second album)
Mari (Best Shot 1)
Tsuji (Best Shot 2)
Takahashi (Best Shot 3)
Risa (Best Shot 4)
Eri (Hello Cover)
Chisato (Hello Cover)
Risa AGAIN (Hello Cover)
Takahashi AGAIN (Hello Cover)
Airi (Hello Cover)
Miyabi (Hello Cover)

A horse is still a horse.
We're forgetting the most obvious Furusato singer.
That same year, Yuko also had it as an album track.
Sayumi performed it solo in 2008. During that all singles album promo concert.
So that makes it:
Nacchi
Yuko
Tsuji
Takahashi (iTunes)
Risa
Eri
Sayumi
Koharu
Airi (iTunes)
Chisato (iTunes)

Duet version of Sayaka and Yuko on one of the Folk Song albums, too. One of the best versions of the song, in my opinion.
