I knew it!! I have ALWAYS seen that girl going in a career direction like this.
I seriously want to see this be awesome. If it's given the right promotion, I think she could do really well in this and it's high time the 2 remaining 6th generation girls secure their careers before they graduate and fade into obscurity.
I'd also like to see this band consist of older girls. It'd be a shame for her to be in a group full of juniors, it's obviously not her thing.

I'm just a little worried how well Reina can pull it off. I feel that her yankee/rocker image is to a great extent phony and she'll just do what she's told to, without any hint of spontaneity. I hope I will need to take that back, but after seeing Ai rocking out during Jishin Motte performance on her graduation concert my expectations and standards are high.
Can we have a punk-rock band with Ai as a lead please?

*Unless I can sneak by in the audition and say I was 22 on April 1? Is that ok?

I'm not sure whether it is a rock band or not.

My thoughts exactly. Actually, I think her "yankee" image is largely based on the fashion she wears and the fact that she's stand offish, not particularly friendly, and generally doesn't give a fuck. In the last several years she's mixed that with phony cuteness and a squeaky voice, which makes it even harder for me to see her as a rocker. I hope this brings back some of the Reina we had when she first joined mixed with some Jishin Motte Ai, because then this would be awesome.
I hope this is the start of girls having a music career after MM again. I wonder if this group will be considered part of H!P or what.

Someone over at H!O read the application. Girls auditioning have to be between the ages of 15 and 22 and can't be assigned to another agency (duh). And apparently it links back to the H!P site, so it'll probably be part of H!P.
Oh, and the guitarist will also do chorus vocals.

It's about time H!P added some new side projects anyways. Maybe I will like the 2 new girls enough to follow this once it's started.

H!P doing rock is something I've wanted for quite some time. (I wanted Maki to do it though) Hopefully Reina does her big girl voice and not cutesy voice.

So Reina will be a guitarist too? Am I reading that correctly? 1 guitar and 1 drummer band would be weiiirrrrrd.
It just says:
"We're looking for girl members who want to form a band with Tanaka Reina!
Starting on June 17th for 4 weekends in a row we're holding auditions!
We're looking for female vocalists and female guitarists!
Guitarists who can do vocals or chorus singing are welcome too!"
Tsunku's comment then says it will be a "twin vocal girls band" and that they're looking for someone to be the twin vocalist with Reina and a guitarist. If the guitarist can sing too, more power to them.
So they're only talking about 3 girls total, unless they already have other girls in mind like PQ suggested. If not, then I guess they just plan to have random studio people do the rest of the instruments. Which I agree would be weird. =/

This could also mean more eggs for the unsuccessful but still talented girls. "Be in a band with Reina" I think more girls will apply for this than Morning Musume.
That could be both a positive and negative thing. More eggs could mean another group in addition to the band and 11gen Momusu members.

Now I'm curious as to how this will play out. It would be more interesting if Reina could actually play an instrument.

This looks like imminent graduation to me too. Tsunku say's a lot of things, like how the 10th gen was going to be 2 girls.( Very Glad it wasn't just two, but still). I'm sooo looking forward to this! H!P could do with more genre diversity.

Yeah smells like graduation to me too.
I don't really want eggs in this. I know they pulled off Buono pretty well, but somehow I think Reina + little kids training to be idols =/= rock band.

It'll be like Biyuuden I reckon. She'll stay in MM and the rock band for 2-3 singles each and then leave. Thank god, gtfo 6th gen. I want an all new girls MM. *gets shot*
Aside Sayu and Reina fans I think most would agree with you!
Including me!

It's just that Reina and Sayu are the last of the older members...so having them both gone just seems like the completion of a completely new MM, which I know'll happen eventually, but I also think they need to stay around till the Kyuukies have a bit more experience, they've been in MM for about a year and a half, so I think maybe when they have 3 or so years on them, I will be ready to say goodbye to the remaining 6th gen.
