Re: What are you playing?

Yeah, I've been into Zen Pinball for a while now. I love the Bullwinkle table. And Batman Arkham Asylum still kicks ass. They've perfectly captured what it means to be Batman with slick hand to hand fighting, creeping around in shadows, using tons of high-tech gadgets, and actually making use of the...

The New Official J-Drama Thread!

So, yeah, I've been watching a lot of J-dramas lately so I can keep my Japanese skills up while stuck out here in the country. I'm really digging on Buzzer Beat now, although half the time I want to pimp-slap Naoki for being such an absolute wuss. Nodame Cantabile was awesome and I can't wait for th...

Re: Momoko's 4th PB "momochiiii!"

Feh, considering 16 is the legal age of marriage for females in Japan, seeing a 16 or 17 year old in a bikini shouldn't be a big deal. And Momoko got bewbz like 4 years ago. I remember a time when all of the sudden she figured out she had them and tried sticking them in the camera every chance she g...

Batman: Arkham Asylum is freakin' amazing! Not only is it the best Batman game ever, it's probably one of the best licensed games I've ever played.

Inglorious Basterds. Garbage. 30 minutes of gold from Brad Pitt, and then 2 hours of Tarantino jerking himself off.

Re: Battlestar Galactica

Yeah, when I read the news about ANOTHER version of BSG, not even a damn year after the show ended, I quite literally facepalmed. There is absolutely no way it come anywhere close to the TV show unless it just goes for out and out parody, making it some kind of 70s sci-fi spoof. Shit, there's still ...

Re: Yossi's roles in skits on "Hello Morning"

If you can find them, there are seven "Hello Morning "Haromoni Gekijo" DVDs that have all the skits. Offhand the characters I remember her playing are: Hitomi Yoshizawa, a high school student, infamous for her bad puns Ittetsu, the abusive father, with Nono and Kago as his sons and Ri...

Yeah, they were box sets released for Xmas for a few years. They all came with DVDs or videos and little Xmas items, usually in some kind of collectors tin.

I was in downtown Kyoto today and I had no idea how huge this show is becoming. All the music shops have huge displays for it, especially since the third single (the culture festival song) comes out next week and the first full album is due out in a month. One of the anime shops even had an area in ...

Re: Joss Whedon & Eliza Dushku present Dollhouse

Too bad it looks like the show's not getting a second season. Since Terminator TSCC is also getting dumped, they could have added Summer to the cast. Pick up Nathan Fillion and then the show could be the best thing on TV.

Finally watched Caprica, and while it's not BSG, it is pretty damn good. I mean, 10 seconds into it and you've already got nekkid boobies and schoolgirls. How's that not good TV?

Not really sure what to think about the role of the Adama family in the whole thing though...

Nice find. I haven't watched anime in forever, until Macross Frontier came along, but I do love me both girl bands and movies/shows about bands in general. Got the first three episodes so far. I've only had a chance to check out the first, but I'm already in love with Ritsu. It's like Tomo from Azum...

Re: Yaguchi Mari becomes a columnist for Famitsu

Yeah, gaming is pretty much like Hollywood with the majority of it aiming for that young male demographic, but unlike Hollywood, gaming doesn't really have its own "chick flicks" outside of some indy and handheld games. From my gaming experiences, in Japan RPGs have as many female as male ...

Re: What are you playing?

I get what you're saying. I've been playing the hell out of Tales of Vesperia for the last two weeks trying to get as much done in a single playthrough as I can. I'm 10 hours short of the 100 hours played achievement, but since I'm only level 90 I doubt I'll be getting the level 200 achievement with...

Re: Amazon starts selling Xbox Live games directly

I've used the points for so long that I'm pretty much used to them by now. Things aren't any better on the PS3 in similar respects. The PS3 titles cost real money, not points, but you have to add money to your account in certain amounts. That's to say, if a game cost $6, you still have to drop $10 i...

Re: Battlestar Galactica

I'm thinking that Starbuck 2.0 was essentially a Head Starbuck that everyone could see, while Head Six and Baltar were more like ones only the special "prophets" could see. The show pretty much said that they were angels with Starbuck's father/piano guy possibly even being God.

Reality as I know it has been utterly shaken. Dragonball: Evolution was not total shit! I went as a joke. I was hoping for a crappy B-movie to laugh my ass off at, but it turned out it was actually a fun, passable movie. Not perfect by any means, especially the extremely anti-climactic final battle,...
