I found out BECCA released a best of album last month before the earthquake hit and I just found it now. I loved Becca when she was with Bennie K, and she does an English version of Dreamer and KAMINARI GIRL on the album with them as well as covers Heart's Alone. I'm also listening to the Tron Legacy OST, which is really great, and a few songs from the Inception OST, which has ~3 spectacular tracks and the rest aren't really made for just casually listening to them.

The funny thing about the Inception OST is, that it's done by good old Hans Zimmer, but the best song isn't even made by him and not even on the actual OST:

As you guys probably know by now, I'm a big fan of descriptive statistics, especially when it comes to music. So I keep track of all kinds of stats on my music collection. And one of those statistics is song ratings, and by extension album ratings.



I have a new top-rated album, and in fact the only one I have where every song is rated a 5. And that album is "aozorafantasii - Flight". It's by a girl with an acoustic guitar and a beautiful voice from the land of the Youtubes. Originally from California, she moved to Japan a year and a half ago to work full-time and do music. She began playing guitar in summer of '07 and writing songs in Japanese and English, and that same year began uploading covers and originals to Youtube.



She released her 7-song mini-album (Edit: CD has an 8th song) "Flight" in June of last year. It's an indies release, and is available as an mp3 download (iTunes US, JapanFiles, Amazon MP3 US) or as a CD (Amazon.co.jp, CD Japan, HMV.co.jp).

2003?4?5? (I can't remember exactly) was absolute heaven when it came to idols. Avex pumped out so many great groups, there were a ton of smaller groups pumping out amazing music with great vocalists, AH NOSTALGIA! le sigh!

There's 80*PAN! which had an amazing mini album called 8 Carat Princess. Then they kicked out all the new members they brought in for 80*PAN!, reduced it to two, called it 80_PAN and released a self titled(?) EP that was more 80s influenced fun. I liked the PV for "I don't wanna go" with the barbie dolls. :D

When they added that wrestler dude Korikki into their songs I stopped listening for awhile. Totally ruined the group for me. I liked Asuka Hinoi, but she pretty much stopped doing stuff after 2007.



I found the Bubblegum Crisis Complete Vocal Collection online and downloaded it months ago, but I've been so caught up with listening to newer music that I haven't had time to appreciate it. I LOVE me some late 90's Anime Jpop, but I always need to be in the mood. Well I've been in the mood. :D Knight Sabers is where it's at! Bubblegum Crisis is also another anime that had Michie Tomizawa in it, that makes 3 she's been in that has had music I like. Lady be everywhere yo! Also, I've never actually SEEN an episode of Bubblegum Crisis, ever.
