OK, I'm bored again and can't be bothered working so to liven things up why not create your very own H!P SUPERGROUP <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />

Rules are:

1. It can be any H!P member, past or present.

2. The only criteria for selection is vocal talent. Looks, personality, dancing are irrelevant. THIS IS NOT AN IDOL GROUP.

3. 4 or 5 members.

4. They can sing any type of music, need not be anything to do with H!P

OK, here's my group, in no particular order.

Yuki Maeda, Atsuko Inaba, Kaori Iida and, totally out of left field, Asami Kimura and Miuna Saitou.

I think they could pretty much handle anything you could throw at them from ballads to rock and they would sound pretty damn good.

Oh and anybody suggesting the 9th Gen and Kusumi had better stay clear of dark alleys, if you know what I mean and I'm sure that you do <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />.

I think it would be hard for me to make a list for my supergroup mainly because I like different girls and their voices but I don't know how well they would mesh together. So I'll pass on this. :D

There's too many limitations on this! Therefore I will both follow your rules and ignore them.

Ruru, Inaba Atsuko, Ishiguro Aya, Heike Michiyo, Mika Todd, Goto Maki, Matsuura Aya

Group #2:

Takahashi Ai, Kago Ai, LinLin, Kamei Eri, Kikkawa Yuu, Niigaki Risa, Sugaya Risako

I added as many people as I wanted. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /noway.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' /> People may question Mika, but if you listen to her recent music previews, her voice is quite lovely and mature. She seems like she could handle a lot. As for Kikka, I think she can be very good when given the right material.

Even though you say "vocal talent only," even for non-idol groups there needs to be more factors than that! For instance, I hesitate to add Goto Maki because while she's a talented singer and I think she could handle any style, she has a strong "soloist" vibe and always tends to stick out. I also hesitate to put Kago and Kamei in the same group because their voices are so similar. For me, a super group isn't just "a bunch of people who sing really good" it's about how the group works as a whole. For instance, I made two separate groups because I think age and vocal style play a factor in group cohesiveness. So I've basically made "mature sexy ladies" and "youthful fun ladies." <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

Not so much a list of who I think is best as it is... whose voice I like. You'll notice that neither Ai or Reina is on here because I am so fucking sick of their voices that the mere sound of them makes me want to punch babies.

Group 1 (dance oriented music - think Take Off Is Now or Indigo Blue Love):

Kamei Eri, Goto Maki, Sugaya Risako, Suzuki Airi, Kikkawa Yuu, Masae Otani

Group 2 (mid-tempo songs and ballads, think anything from Ki ga Tsukeba Anata to Onna, Kanashii, Otona):

Fujimoto Miki, Matsuura Aya, Shibata Ayumi, Maeda Yuki

I am famed far and wide for missing the blindingly obvious but it has just occurred to me that from the first formation of other groups MM has always been the weakest vocally. They were inferior to MKB, T&C and probably Country Musume and it would be a close run thing with Coconuts. The only time they were top of the pile was after MKB folded and before the 9th Gen joined.

- Takahashi (from 2001-2002; I liked her better when she was just happy to be a part of the group, and less and less as the group came to depend on her)

of current H!P members, my "Dream Morning Musume" would be: Tettekette, Shige, Kikka, Sayashi, and Miyamoto ...a nd they'd be called "Stars." Like five points on a star. or something.

Like I said this is not an idol group, it's just about the singing. I guess you would think Joni Mitchell is boring because she just stands there playing a guitar and singing.

My whole point, nub, thrust, gist etc. was that this isn't an idol group, it's a vocal group. They would be interesting to me because they would be good singers.

I introduced Joni purely to show that somebody who just sings and plays a guitar is awesome, she doesn't need gimmicks, dancing, whatever. I'm not comparing my group with Joni (that would be ridiculous, the woman is a genius) just saying all the best concerts I have ever seen are just music, no distractions.

I appreciate with H!P acts you do need a bit of glamour/cuteness/sexiness etc. but I have always been drawn to H!P because, for a long time at least, to me it was all about high-quality pop, the sort of thing that stuck in your head all day long, made you happy and tap your feet and the character of the girls.

After all that's what The Beatles were about in their early days before they grew beyond that and there has always been a history of that kind of music, The Monkees, a lot of Motown, Abba, the Spice Girls etc. Nothing that changes the world but does put a smile on its face.

Turtle's group would be good just because you don't get to hear those voices, because most of the girls are super underrated. It has only 5 members, but it's totally the making of "the large summer shuffle unit".

Hey, mine has 3 members from Sexy 8, Yaguchi would have been there, but a Sayaka appearance is rare and won't wreck my group with "anime-mode vocals".
