rob, it's kind of funny that you're now saying dance doesn't mean anything in pop music, after championing Riho's dance skills as a Big Deal. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />



But overall, polls like that are ridiculously misleading and pointless. Anything that says "goo ranking" or "(insert magazine name here) ranking" can pretty much be ignored. The total number of votes is so small, they can't possibly represent any large group of the Japanese population. They also tend to only get votes from a select audience, such as readers of a particular magazine or fanboys/girls who religiously defend their favorites by voting for them in every poll.

Well obviously being able to dance and then being able to dance well is important, but for a MUSIC group it's not the most important factor is what I was trying to say.



Riho being a trained, experienced dancer is important for MM because that is something they have NEVER had, sure the girls have gotten better over the years with experience, but never awesome from the moment they entered.

I think Ai had been taking dance/ballet lessons since she was very young, well before joining MM.



Also, to some extent I don't think it's that important how good Riho is. Most of the time she will be dancing with the other girls in which case the choreography will be designed for the group which generally means doing things the weakest dancers can manage.

Yeah, but ballet is very different from the type of dance MM does. Most of us ballet dancers look ridiculous when we try to do any kind of hip hop or pop style dance, because we're used to being having perfectly straight arms and legs and doing much more precise movements. Though I'm sure she would have had a bit of an advantage when it comes to memorizing choreography.



You're right about most dances being made for the group, but remember how much people talked about Eri being a great dancer? People notice, even if you're mixed in with others. Plus having great dance skills can get you solo/small group numbers, and that's the goal for idols - more spotlight! In the end though, I think it's more important for an idol to have something to say they're good at that makes them stand out from the rest of their group. Even if it's something completely random and useless like Kikka's cabbage chopping skills or Kanon's bug impersonations. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

To some extent that is true Turtle, but even when they perform the same moves, the better dancers can add in extra bits of flair just because they can and that's what is so easy to notice.



The thing that captivated me about watching Eripon live is how worried about making a mistake she is, moving backwards you can see her worry, but then when she achieves it, you can totally see the obvious sense of happiness she got from completing it perfectly, I like that..... I like the fact that someone so young can work hard for something, and then be happy they did it.

In the MM Spring 2011 concert, they put Riho in a demanding dance number ("Moonlight Night") with Ai and Risa and she kept up perfectly with them! She totally won me over there. I eventually want to see her dance in a unit with the other great dancers in H!P: Saki (S.), Saki (N.), and Maimi.

More Alo-Hello pics of Risa, Mizuki, and Erina featuring what is quite possibly one of the most unfortunate solo pictures of Risa I've ever seen. I refuse to believe that was the best one she'd taken.



Ai, Sayu, and Riho pictures. Ai's hair looks fab. Too bad I think it's already a different color again.



Aika, Reina, and Kanon. Aika is adorable and I'm glad they let her lie down for her pose instead of making her stand. Unlike this picture, where she's really obviously putting all the weight on one leg. I like her bathingsuit, too. It's a nice pattern/color combination.



And a nice group picture. Ai should trade outfits with Risa and just make the transition into being a hippie.



Oh, and Goto was in a photoshoot for Friday. Here are the pictures for that. Seeing her looking so amazing and releasing these nice songs makes me sad she's going away.

I like how they hid the fact that Aika is wearing her boot by making her stick her foot behind Reina's dress. But you can still sorta see it at the very bottom.



A simple solution would have been to make Aika wear the dress and stick her foot in the air behind her when they took the shot. Of course then you'd need people on either side of her to balance her while they were taking it.



Poor Aika looks miserable in all these group photos and that makes me sad. :<
