Though don't look directly at Ayumi, her smile stuns. And apart from her weird skin tone that I'm not sure it due to the sun or perhaps some weird skin disorder, Haruna looks like Sayumi. Time will tell if she has or has not the personality of Sayumi.

I seriously believe he just wants to start over again with S/mileage as the new MM and let MM fade away. He had a girl with a ton of talent, Sara, and doesn't pick her, and fucking Karin, who could be HP's first true "Ace" since Maki Goto, gets ignored.



I'd be perfectly fine with Masaki, Haruna and the 16 year old if they were picked alongside an actual potential front girl, but apparently Tsunku is a goddamned fucktard that really does want to doom the group.



Yippee! I can't wait for all those AMAZING future Reina led singles with her absolutely WONDERFUL fucking voice!!!

I got everyone I liked except they decided to fuck with me and add the awkward looking whispy-voiced Haruna instead of Sara. I really didn't want them to add her just for the sake of adding an older girl, but maybe she'll change my mind the way Eripon did. I won't completely write her off just yet.



But seriously, why no Sara? It was obvious she was a fan choice.

Well, have a picture of Sayumi deciding in her head which one will be her favorite. It probably won't be Haruna, she's far too old:

Ikubo Haruna- Has a surprising "pure" personality. And her looks (face) are gorgeous. I believe she has the determination to bring her singing to a suitable level. That is why she passed.



Ishida Ayumi- Her singing and dancing were outstanding. Also, her personality is as firm as a stone (a play on the "ishi" in her last name). I believe the history of Morning Musume can be passed on to her from here on out. That is why she passed. (Sounds like he has really high expectations of Ayumi! Based on this, I expect her to pick up some of Ai-chan's old lines)



Sato Masaki- The level of her dancing and singing is below the other three now, but she has a potential (literally raw ore) that she has yet to realize herself. Also, her skill level rose considerably during the audition. That is why she passed.



Kudo Haruka- She has experience as an egg, and she really loves singing. Also, the "gap" between her face and her husky voice is interesting (basically, she looks tiny and cute, but she has a deep voice, and that's unusual). I hope that she can help to bring together the 10th generation members and the current members as soon as possible. (I guess because she's in 10th gen, and she's worked with current MM in the stage play) That is why she passed.

I'm inordinately upset about Haruna. ALL I'VE EVER WANTED (since the 7th gen auditions when the girls suddenly became younger than my little sister) was someone of a reasonable age... yet Haruna is sooooo BLAH to me it's infuriating <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



Ishida was my favorite from the audition and I'm pleased to see her join. I hope she doesn't become annoying. Somehow it seems like she has the potential to become really annoying...



I don't know why it didn't occur to me that MM is obviously about to become the Reina show until it was just mentioned. I think I need to go throw up a little.

I had to go back and watch the last audition footage because I couldn't remember who was who aside from Haruka.



Ikubo Haruna- Blah. Her crazy eyes with her bland smile weird me out. BUT, I remember not being too impressed with Eripon when she first joined, she always looked afraid. She came a long way in a short time, this girl might too. It's nice at least that she's a bit older and has the possibility of blending a bit more with the older girls if she gets a looot more confidence.



Ishida Ayumi- She's alright. Why does Tsunku think she's so amazing? One thing to all of these girls disadvantage is that their audition song was a Takahashi solo. Setting the bar way too high. I also don't put too much stock in Tsunku's babble. The new future of MM? I'll believe it when I see it, Tsunku.



Sato Masaki- Ugh. I will give her credit for improving a lot between auditions. Maybe she'll surprise us.



Kudo Haruka- I liked her. She is very young, but she's super cute, seems to be the hard working type, and can already sing. I've finally figured out what Tsunku means with this "husky voice" crap. It's just that she has a slight rasp all the time like she's getting over a cold. Despite that, she seems to be a pretty decent singer. Some more training will probably even out her rasp.



Overall I'm really disappointed in the lack of Sara and Karin, but I can't say I'm surprised about either. I'm reserving full judgment for a while, I just don't feel like we've seen enough of these girls yet.

I hardly watched the audition process as to not get too disappointed and I am STILL disappointed. Ayumi is nice, but from what I saw of Sara, I reeeeeally wanted her in. And Karin! What about Karin? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... pyeyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':puppyeyes:' />



So, pretty much the same gripes here as everyone else...



I wonder if there will ever be a generation that just... isn't this much of a bummer? It isn't as if we'd ever even been given any reason at all to think Karin might make the cut since she wasn't even featured once throughout the MM auditions, and we're quite used to perfectly good candidates going to waste at this point, but why should we have to be used to something like that?



At least we have Ayumi, who is talented though hopefully won't overshadow every other perfectly capable member in the group.

Ayumi is amazing with the dance, but her face, it scares me a little every time I look at her. I can't stare directly at her without cringing.



I'll hold finally 10th gen judgment till their next single, group shot AND out of audition interaction with the media and fellow Musume. That's how I grew to appreciate Erina and I'll do the same for these girls as well.



Oh, and I'd LOVE to hear his reasons on WHY Karin nor Sara (or the other auditioners) were not qualified to join Morning Musume. Especially Sara. What flaw did she possess that stopped UFA Tsunku from picking her.

I have no idea, really. I'd always thought it would be great for an older girl to be chosen in a single-member generation to fit in with an already older group, but in a larger generation like this it just seems strange for the others to be young and roughly the same age while one is so much older.



Miki notwithstanding, of course.





And the more I think about it, the more it grinds my gears that they intend to replace Ai's role with Ayumi as 'the future of MM'. You can't just replace a member of a decade-long tenure with a newbie. Even if she's talented, it comes off as a lack of respect, especially since there are other talented performers already in the group who, even in 9th gen, have a longer tenure than she. This pretty much shafts the rest of her generation from a chance of shining, too.

Same. I don't care why they picked the girls they did, but what they're playing at by passing on talent... again. I hope that they're saving the best for a new group or something. UpFront said that they were going on the offensive and this is... just offensive.



What a disappointment. Sayumi is the only current Morning Musume member that I care about. Some of the other girls are definitely decent, but not enough to hold my interest. ... and through it all, I just don't care that much. Doom doom doom

I watched each of their singing clips, and what's Ayumi's big deal? Her voice wasn't that good. But like I said, I'll reserve judgement. When Kanon auditioned I thought she was a fug monster with an annoying voice and now she's my oshi.

Your feelings about Kanon are basically mine only about Eripon. I hated her during the auditions and I love her more than anyone except Sayumi, so I'm going to give them a few months before passing judgment.



Takamaruyo translated the 10th gen appearance.



In short:



Riho thinks 10th gen and 9th gen are similar.

Mizuki spouted some typical 'we won't lose to them!' stuff.

Zukki is weirded out that they're mostly older than her (I saw a fan account that said she was going crazy with excitement before they came out since she watched H!P Time).

Eripon thinks they're cute but is disappointed no one is her age.

Risa is wrapping her mind around four new members, since she thought there wouldn't be that many.

Reina just... says some stuff. Makes a mention about Haruka.

Sayumi made her own predictions about who would get in after watching H!P Time and apparently she was completely wrong.

Takahashi tells everyone to work hard.
