So Riho says the costumes aren't embarrassing because they're cute and they don't have to wear them in public like the ones with Aichan.
Why would she think those atrocities are cute. UFA really does have them brainwashed. -__-

Tsunku really has gone senile.
I just hope they rush the first single after Risa's graduation like they did with S/mileage's Chotomate Kudasai. This way they have a lot of hype and promotion for the next one so we can forget this ever happened.

They're already workin on their next single, which I presume will be Risa's graduation single. Tsunku says it will be cool, so I have hope...kinda. Tsunku does love to troll us fans after all.

How soon we forget about his description of the 7th generation winner.
They should do 2 more singles for Risa. That way, she'll go out at #50, which would be more symbolic.
In other news, WTF, they almost have 50 singles now!

So I rewatched this with a clear head and...
I still hate it. It's sad UFA spent this much money on a PV. But the song. God damn the song sticks in your head.

I haven't watched the full PV yet, and I'm debating whether I should. I think the song is pretty good, and I like how it sounds with the opening to the drama, but I'm worried that I'll start completely hating it once I see the PV.

The PV's actually good IMO. I'm actually really confused by all the hate for it on here 'cause I just don't... see it. I think people just hate it because the dance is honestly stupid and the outfits are embarrassing enough for secondhand embarrassment. But you don't get the see the dance that often in the PV because of more interesting close-up shots and other stuff.

Re: Morning Musume :: Pyocopyoco Ultra
People don't like it because MM is not a kiddy group and this song doesn't fit the group at all even though the new members are young they could do fun songs like MDKS or even mature songs that could fit all age groups like Do It! Now.

Even the youngest that joined MM doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. The song would be great, and I'm curious to read the English lyrics, but the video...

Maybe of they dressed the girls up in real clothes instead of chicken costumes it would be more tolerable. For years MM has been viewed more as musicians than idols, then they pull this and it's just sad. Risa being the mama hen for the new girls, the baby chicks, is not a funny pun at all and has been done before with Aichan and 9th gen. Looks make a huge impression after all.

Re-read showraniy's post. Your first complaint addresses the song itself, not the PV. Your second complaint is just restating what she said - the costumes are a problem.
As for MM being viewed as musicians? Perhaps by you or some other members of this board, but that's not true at all for the general Japanese public. Type of music really has almost nothing to do with the line between idol and musician. AKB48 and lots of Johnny's groups put out mature songs, but they're still considered idols. The "idol" title has a lot more to do with how the group is marketed and the range of things they do outside of music. Even during the EmoMusume days MM was putting out bikini photobooks, selling bromides, appearing in idol-centric magazines, having almost zero creative input in their career, and swearing off boys.

THIS.
I noticed most people completely misinterpret the "artist" title. Pop "artists" such as Morning Musume and Britney Spears are performers, not artists. Their job is to perform - simple enough.
An artist creates - that has been the definition since the beginning of civilization.
Tsunku, for example, is an artist. He's written countless songs throughout his career. 'Nuff said. The girls simply perform them.
Ke$ha, like it or not, is an artist. Why? She writes her own songs and has creative freedom in her career.
Hope that cleared it up!

Re: Morning Musume :: Pyocopyoco Ultra
Well I feel like my first complaint sums it up anyways, MM isn't a kiddy group. The video and the outfits used for it are just kinda degrading to the girls especially the 13 and older girls IMHO. The song itself is alright, I suppose. I guess I said it wrong when I said artist, I should say they were a more serious group and when they did fun it wasn't extremely childish. Like they are in this video.

Re: Morning Musume :: Pyocopyoco Ultra
All I can say is this: If you don't like the concept or costumes, you've got to get over it. Just enjoy the music, yeah? If anything that should be all that matters in the end
I personally can't get enough of the song. I agree with everyone that the PV sucked, but the girls looked pretty and tried their best. Well, except for maybe Reina - my 70 year old grandmother can jump better and with more charisma.
Hyoutan-Jima was just as childish as this, if not more so - and the average age of the group back then was a good deal higher!

HHJ was already an opening to a kid's show. And there wasn't other kiddy groups back then besides Minimoni. I do wish MM could be reserved as the adult group, but I guess cute and berryz is growin' ups.

Re: Morning Musume :: Pyocopyoco Ultra
I really like this song and the pv. I think the b-side sounds more MM. I agree this is a little to much like a S/mileage song. My little sister likes the song. I really love Reina in the outfit. I am really praying for another single for Gaki's graduation single. I can't picture her going out like this. But I do love the song. On a side not since the costumes look like something from S/mileage, has anyone seen the PV for S/mileage's new song? There costumes look like they stole them from MM's Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game. Why????

Full radio rip of the b-side.
I feel like this could have been a better choice for the A-side. Yes, it has pretty generic sounds, but from what I can tell most, if not all, girls get a line in the coupling track. Or they could have done PVs for both sides, like 3-2-1 Breakin' Out and Shouganai Yume Oibito. (That wasn't a double A-side, was it?) Oh, well. "Coulda, shoulda, woulda..."
Even if I don't like it, I'm probably going to end up buying it. I haven't bought a full single yet, though. I just buy the songs on iTunes because I'm saving up to buy a house and every little thing counts.

MM isn't a kiddy group.
It is now, the average age is plummeting and within a year or so it's going to be younger still as Sayumi, Reina and the one with the foot will be gone. If they have an 11th Gen audition then more kids will be selected and MM will be the youngest averaged aged group in H!P.
I will also bet that Berryz and C-ute have little more than 2 years left to go and since there has never been any real graduation/replacement system for them I would guess UFA will start again with a couple of new kiddie groups.

I can't wait to see what some of these girls will be like once they're into their older teens or early 20's. I'm most looking forward to Zukki, Eripon, Riho, and Ayumi - if they last that long (We all know Riho will...).
