Ai vs Risa

Re: Ai vs Risa
I'm tired of the 5th gen and Reina and Sayumi a little, so I'm ALL for 9th and 10th gen to take over the group.
5th gen, 6th, 9th and 10th gens.... yep that's everyone accounted for!

AI can sing.

I totally read that as AL.
And I think Ai has the better voice and prefer it to Risa.

Poor 8th gen, coming in when MM turned into the Ai/Reina fest that it was.

Re: Ai vs Risa
The only person to blame for that is tsunku though, I believe he is the one who hands out the lines.
SO unless he has an extremely dodgy memory, he knew what he was doing by handing out 95% of the lines of EVERY song to Ai and Reina.
Ok so 95% is a little bit of an exaggeration <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yeah rob, it was more like %90. Gosh. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />
I don't know. I'm really biased towards Gaki, but I have to say that I find them both to be somewhat equally talented. Ai probably a little bit moreso. She seems to have a lot more stamina on stage and she's a little bit easier to listen to through recordings.
*my two cents

Re: Ai vs Risa
Risa is a mediocre singer, I'm mostly indifferent about her vocal tone, but it can be annoying at times.
Ai is an above mediocre to good singer. Her voice is very variable.
Ai wins.

Re: Ai vs Risa
I think risa is better - she has a way better control of her upper chest voice and she can hit low notes easier than ai...
on the other hand, ai has a gift on the head voice department (even tought risa didn't got the chance to really do alot of head voice) she tend to sing with it on notes not that high and believe me, it's hard to find songs in which ai really stracth the limit of her range...
overall i really like risa voice more than ai both live and studio, i remember seeing a recent live from a promotion of maji de and when risa had a solo I was simply thinking wow she is a great singer, than ai had 20 more lines, and i said, well she is good but i want to hear more of risa, and than reina sang some more........

Re: Ai vs Risa
I love vocalists with deeper voices in general, but I think Risa never had a song that showcased that for her. She would've done better under a different mentor.

Koe (Risa version)
Koe (Takahashi version)
Koe (Risa acoustic version)
INDIGO BLUE LOVE (Risa version)
Also, Kotatsu no Uta ~jyuken story~, though I don't think she did a solo version of that.

Re: Ai vs Risa
Have you watched MM's Ribon no Kishi or Cinderella plays? Risa did plenty of deep-voiced belting in those.
