The good;

I actually quite like the PV, with all the different shots. I feel S/mileage gets the best PV lately, which makes me pretty happy.



The bad;

What the cocks is up with them landing against the glass like flies? And what's up with the mini-girls doing random poses? I feel if they had just stuck with the dance shots, the goofing around and the drawing it would've been better.

Also Rina seems like a nice girl but wooow can someone hit her with the pretty stick a couple times <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' /> And when they finish with her, can they knock Meimi's teeth back in place? I feel if she didn't have them the bangs would look decent.

For official stuff like the CD covers, PVs and goods they use professional stylists (because they are always credited on the CDs) but for concerts and live events they may have a little help but I think they pretty much do it themselves most of the time. Now, coloring and cuts that's managements department.



Rina needs the bang fringes on the side to help center her face. And she needs to get herself some character. The girls worse then Mizuki.

Pretty sure it depends on the girl as to how much control they have. Ai would often cut her hair whenever she felt like it, and Sayu often talks about cutting her own bangs. Also, in the earlier days when Sayu didn't like Junjun, Sayu had enough pull to be the one to make Junjun change her hair so they didn't look alike.

While a girl is still new to the company, they probably have less control. The longer you're with the company I think the more freedoms you're given. Which is why Risa and Takahashi seemed to be having a hair-off color bonanza last year.



Miyabi is also another girl who seems to change her styles often outside of Morning Musume. Some girls like their style and don't change it because it's part of their character appeal. (Hi Momoko and Sayumi!)



I want someone in S/mileage to break out the hair dye. But considering they are still an up and coming group, I doubt I'll get that wish anytime soon. (I bet it'll be Kanon who goes first if someone does dye their hair.)

Saki had long, light-brown hair as an egg, sort of like how Miyabi had dark blonde hair when she first debuted.



And, of course, there was the time that all of S/mileage had to cut their hair for the group's image, which has apparently been forgotten seeing as all of the members except for Akari have long hair at this point, don't they? So much for unification.

Is the management trying to make her character the "not as pretty one"? I feel like she's a pretty good singer, but she doesn't seem to get as many spots as the other girls. And she's not completely unfortunate looking, either.



This seems so mean in text. I just feel like the management isn't doing their best for her, here. They do this kind of stuff all the time, though, I know.



I like Kanana's hair, though. She looks better with pigtails than Pippi-longstocking braids. Meimi looks better with her hair down, too, IMHO. I'm still undecided on her bangs.

I doubt they're purposely keeping Rina down, they're probably just focusing their time, effort and money on the popular ones and the ones they're trying to push to the front. If they don't have an idol sing much, do much image promotion or even look pretty, they're kind of a waste of a paycheck. I can't imagine it being that they want her to look homely to make the other five look good, since there are already five of them who hold their own in front of cameras and don't really need the extra push like one would in a frontgirl + backup situation that we all get so frustrated by.

Something about the bangs just throw off Meimi's entire facial structure - her eyes suddenly become too close together and small, her nose becomes much wider, and her teeth are 10 times more obvious than before. That said, I didn't like the old school Risa look on her either. I don't really know what would work for her, but the bangs were a definite down grade.

I understand why they are pushing the more popular girls, but I do miss the part of S/mileage where there were front girls, but there weren't really front girls. I feel like Kanana and Rina are backup to the other four. Kanana's my new favorite since Saki left, so I will take any push for her I can get!

They really updated Namida GIRL. Obviously, I hoped for the vocals to be more badass, but I do really like the parts where an extra voices come in for the "ah".

Looks like this will be their 2nd lowest selling single after Koi ni Booing Boo!



I'm rooting for the new S/Mileage, but I kind of wonder if they'll ever recover from Yuuka's graduation. The sales momentum they built in 2011 is pretty much gone. The four new girls are okay, but only Meimi seems to have potential star power.



If it was up to me, I'd shift the promotional money over to C/ute, which seems to have solid sales despite zero promotion.

Akari beats Meimi in all areas (except being a manic crackhead) and Kana is a comedic genius. Don't count them out yet. Rina is the only one to feel sorry for.
