Sales-wise, Mano does pretty well for a soloist. She outsells Buono, which has 2 of H!P's superstars, and she comes within a few thousand of Berryz and C-ute. This is despite having some pretty lame songs, IMHO.
My guess is that she's quite profitable for UFA. They probably pays her peanuts, since she's so low on the seniority ladder. And she sells a ton of merchandise as well. It helps that she's incredibly pretty and likable.
Her sales are declining, but that's just the reality of every H!P act these days. The problem is with the organization, not the individual acts.

I don't believe that is true AT ALL. Doki Doki baby is a really catchy song, whereas the other a-side even though it's a great song, it takes really listening to it to like it.
