Those stats are really cool but they always scare the hell out of me whenever I get to the bottom and realize Sayumi and Reina are about to hit 10 years (and scared they'll graduate like Taka/Risa)

@Petit - Look at it this way, even this time next year they will still be 6 months behind Risa.
IMO Sayumi is going to be leader for another 2 years or more, but we may see Reina leave before that, I feel that even though she is clearly the front girl right now, that tsunku wants to replace her with new front girls.

SO hard to believe. The amount of exposure MM used to get compared to now really skews my sense of how long people have been around.

That's my point though, if you listen to her singing more you will realise she is actually really talented, which has been something badly missing from mm for a long time.

And Haruka really is keeping with the tomboy theme eh? I think it's cute. Her and Akari should totally get a song together in the next H!P concert, Chisato and Miyabi can come too. They can call it the Shortcuts Shuffle.

I love Masaki's new hair, it's super cute on her. I also like that is has an actual shape. Before the ends of her hair always seemed to lay funny, and she had no real style or layers to it.
I hate Haruka's hair. It's that same awful short-cut Japan gives every idol that's super unflattering on almost all face shapes. Ugh, it's 1980s idols all over again.
Haru - I don't think any of us can convince you of Karin's talent if she's just not doing it for you, but I think another factor is perspective. When someone says "omg soo amazing" or really pushes for a girl, it makes people tend to expect that girl to be the greatest thing of all time - a Takahashi, Maki, Miki, Ayaya at the height of their respective career's. In reality Karin is more like... Kago or possibly Reina during their auditions. She's cute and she has a really clear and pleasant voice. It's a high pitched idol-y voice without being overly squeaky and grating. MM is really lacking in vocal talent right now. Some of the 9th and 10th gen might get good eventually, but they still need quite a bit of training. I could see Karin being very much like Kago if she joined the group - very early on she could take on some significant parts and sound pretty good doing them. It's not like she's perfect, but she's at a very good starting point and has the potential to develop into a really strong singer.

A lot of them seem to have both iPhones and non-smartphones (au, docomo). I think because Japanese cell phones already did so much long before smartphones existed, the text system is different, and there's still a lot of stuff in Japan that isn't compatible with smartphones. I think a lot of them use the regular cell for texting/calling/barcode scanning/etc, and then use iPhones/other smartphones for taking pictures, using apps and being trendy. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
