Morning Musume's 13th album "13 Colorful Character" drops 9/12.



One track was released on YT, "What's Up? Ai wa dou nanda~" as a dance rehearsal version.

It's a cool sounding dance song. Very new sounding for H!P. What's going Tsunku? Did someone pump you with creative juices?

Sounds like it's the lead track of the album.

There's rapping for you people that love that.

After one listen I had this song stuck in my head, I really like this. If that means anything for the rest of this album I am very excited!

Not bad. Mizuki is Sayumi's shadow, I can see why that would be since she'll be the next defacto leader. Better get her shadowing in now.



I hope we get another 9/10 gen song in before the 11th come in. But honestly, I would like some mixed generation songs more then that.

The way they opened the dance, it looks like it could be used for the opening in the concert.



Oh and since it hasn't been mentioned yet, this is the dance the 11th gen have to learn.

I like the beginning but the song seems very disjointed to me. I enjoy the dance though, everyone is working it.

And Mizuki sounds phenomenal.

I don't know what Tsunku has been drinking, but it's rare that I love all the output from him like this. I hope this isn't the only song I like on the album.

The song sounds completely different from anything they've done before, it's a very new sound for them... although I don't think it's a particularly new sound in GENERAL, because half way through I realized it reminded me of something from a mid-2000's avex group (BeForU, Tamaki Nami, Dream, maybe even SweetS). I didn't find it very catchy, but I think it'll grow on me. It would be an energetic concert opener.

As the album titles always made sense in some twisted way, is this Tsunku hinting at how many members he will add in the 11th Gen?

Like the new track though. MM has been due to get some fresh sound for a long time, even if this doesn't sound new at all if you step outside of the H!P box. I'm letting myself be hopeful that with One Two Three and this new song the trend will continue.

There is a preview for another album song Be Alive. They also show some outfit which might be for the concert or just for promotion.



Also Mizuki is now the tallest but I think Haruka might try to catch up.

Those socks. This song is kinda boring, but it'll grow on me. I can't believe Mizuki is so tall now! And Haruka! It looks odd since they both look like they're in blue.



If these are the album covers outfits I expect them to be lined up by their colours via rainbow!

Just a thought, but what if What's up? ended up being their 51st single, or Be Alive. The Be Alive outfits be what they wear. What's up A-side and Be Alive B-side. Why else would we get a dance and outfit preview. Besides what has been mentioned above. Just a thought. There are usualy 3 singles on the Album and so far all they could add is One Two Three and The Manterou show. So thats 2 down. Unless they are going to re record Renai Hunter. I don't want to see Pyoco Pyoco Ultra, but they would have to re record that one as well. Unless they have mentioned that Risa and Aika would be in it for those songs. They did that with 10 My Me With Nanchatte Renai and Shouganai Yume Oibito. The put them on there and it was released after Koharu's graduation.

They're not going to re-record them just for an album. The album comes out in a month, which is why they're showing this stuff. And a video of What's Up is out because it's what the potential 11th gen girls have to learn.

Well that you for that. I can't rad Japanese yet. I am taking a class for that as soon as college starts. It was just a thought anyway. Like some have said. Tsunku will say one thing and then do something completely different. So basically, it is like they did with 10 My Me after Koha's graduation.
