I wonder what they'll do once Suzuka becomes 15? They've graduated all the other girls from Sakura Gakuin once they hit high school age.

I went back into my old data CDs to grab some BENNIE K songs I can't find for download anymore and rediscovered UNDER17 on one of them. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Forgot how awesome Momoi Haruko is.

What was the name of that one off single group that was 60s inspired and produced by tsunku? I think they did the theme for a soccer show, and had a name relating to a number.

Is there a page that has all the albums released in Japan for any year? Wikipedia doesn't really seem to have it.

You can try generasia, (Though you'd have to go to a release and then down at the bottom go to the year release which then in turn gives you all the releases that year.) this is also a good place, JaME World, Though it's 80s section is pretty non-exsistant.

This is the rule of the group, and they are upholding it, she's graduating in March/April, but I think they might still let Babymetal continue, since they have their own record deal and are kind of a separate project, even though they started from within Sakura Gakuin. None of the other sub-groups have even released singles or done solo concerts, so they might figure a way to continue it beyond her graduation.

I finally found Shibasaki Kou's album on iTunes!
It's under Ko Shibasaki, so I really have no clue how one is supposed to write her name, and the album isn't even new, but Circle Cycle is pretty much all I've been listening to for the past few weeks at work.
That, and the Hobbit soundtrack.

I REALLY want to like Bruno Mars because the few songs of his that I do like, I play the shit out of them. But the majority of his albums is just sappy, balladic shit or stuff that sounds like it's two decades too late.

I caught onto it early and it became increasingly hilarious with each scene.
You would have to know their other videos... (follow the tracklist of their best album) They finished what Hyadain started with his last PV
The last click is brilliant, she completes it by referencing Koide keeping track of the references in the PV. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Anybody know anything about Iwatani Tokiko and this album, I assume it's a "Greatest Hits"?
Re: Music Chat Spam
I'm really enjoying this Gold Fields debut album, so I'm gonna throw a review here.
I don't expect that a random Australian band will get much attention here as a stand alone thread. (I will make a review thread for a very important album next week)
This band is all about tribal drums, synth pop elements, but with a slightly evil sounding twist. Here's the full album in stream form. It's about 45 minutes.
Album: BLACK SUN. The middle of this album catches my attention the most, tracks 4-9, but it's really good from start to finish. It's just that I've heard the 2nd & 3rd track more than the rest.
Meet My Friends: There's a hilarious reference to The Police's Roxanne, the line is "Diane, you don't have to bare your breasts tonight" The chorus is really catchy too, but I really love the mellow arpeggiator part at 2:04.
Dark Again: Here's the Music Video. I really like the [Deep Thinker~Ship Sinker...Slow Drinker~Hard Liquor] (Licker?) parts. Especially because they add other variations later in the song that are unexpected because only the 2nd half changes.
Treehouse: I like the clapping in the start and the ooohs. A solid track, I like the lyrics, it's a basic structure with not really any surprises in it.
Happy Boy: Happy Boy is fairly depressing in tone, vocally. The song itself is kind of funky, with a lot of echoing instrumentals. At times, I think of ice caverns or crystals and the next two tracks sort of give me that feel as well. Which is fitting because one is called Ice.
Thunder: Possibly my favorite out of the more mellow tracks. It's just very smooth, and the chords remind me of one of my own songs. It's the simplicity and subtlety that appeals to me, I guess. Not much of the tribal drums featured, but they are saved up for specific moments of the song. In this song, the elements just all work together in a really balanced way. I really like the subtle brass-like parts and the piano in the chorus. I love the Oh~owoh oh-owoh and the guitar in the outro is so cool. The outro in general is interesting to me because it combines elements of the song that were previously not together.
Ice: It's the track that made all album review sites go crazy. You can really feel the temperature of this song. It begins with an ominous hovering bass and then this really simple but lovely synth intro. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> This song has the simplest percussion of the album, but in this case, it was an appropriate choice to go without the tribal drumming sound. The song is less about movement, it's... well, frozen. I think this is the best use of the lead singer's soft singing style. Listen for the 1st "The Wind at my Back" line and how the echo of the word "Back" actually continues into the next line when he finishes the line. I like how he references the start of both earlier verses toward the end. It's nice when everything gets stripped down to reveal the percussion at the end.
Closest I Could Get: Some people have compared this to Never Gonna Give You Up. Yeah, I sorta hear it, but I'd rather talk about how it sounds like the girls of Perfume are whispering things during the part where the title is repeated. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... R#>/XD.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':XD:' /> I have no idea what they're saying. This is my frustration with buying a CD that doesn't put the lyrics in the booklet. I really like the percussion.
The next two are the action packed moments!
The Woods: This is where the tribal sounds really kick in, from the very start. It kind of has this Latin inspired rhythm that repeats. You've heard it before, it's kind of like the 1st half of Berryz' Special Generation. I love the badadada part that is added in the 2nd half of the song after the Wolf jumps off the roof. The outro is great, it has howling and random animal sounds! I do believe this is my favorite... oh wait...
Moves: This is probably my favorite song from this band! They save this track for the encore of concerts. The lyrics are funny, and I love the instrumental from start to finish. I like how the lines switch the gender of Ashley throughout the song. The build up in the middle is excellent. I like the my face/myfacemyfacemyface echo, actually the original recording of this used more echo, this tones it down. Apparently, the original version was on the MTV Teen Wolf soundtrack.
You're Still Gone: It takes some of the elements from the earlier mellow tracks, but then it says just kidding and the tribal percussion appears. The tempo isn't really all that fast, but there are really fast synth sounds in the background. I love the echoing guitar part and that moment where most of the instrumental disappears and then slowly gets reintroduced. Overall pretty cool.
Anxiety: What an evil intro. It's like a final boss battle, but then it builds up to something more dancey. I really like the cutting guitar and the singing in the background. I really like the lyrics. "I don't think I've ever loved someone more than being on my own" It's cool how the next line starts out with own, but own as in "own yourself." If you listen carefully, the Perfume-like vocals are very faintly in the outro. I just noticed that.

Even their Vocaloid stuff (though I wish they'd rerecorded all of it with Nagi).

It's like Sakura no Ki ni Narou all over again for me <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> (I was obsessed with the tone of that song too)

There's a Nogi46 thread somewhere. I haven't heard the newest single but I loved the first two.

Lately, I've been obsessed over Yanagi Nagi. Her voice is so pretty and touching. Not to mention the fact that the lyrics are usually so dark. I always wanna cry at the end of the songs.
Anyway, she makes me think what H!P would be like if they had more singers with her perfect voice. I always think H!P is perfect, then I listen to other music and think, "Wow, H!P needs improvement." <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

Sorry to reply to an old-ish post but if you like Yanagi Nagi you should listen to the stuff she did with supercell <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> quite possibly my favorite J-pop artist ever. Even their Vocaloid stuff (though I wish they'd rerecorded all of it with Nagi).

Re: Music Chat Spam
There is no need for embellishment, so I'm going to say this as plainly and calmly as possible.
New Daft Punk album, "Random Access Memories" releasing May 21 in CD, vinyl+digital+LP booklet, and digital download (only iTunes confirmed so far).
Begin the hype.
