Tanaka Reina is sick

An ulcer is pretty serious isn't it? I admit I don't know much about medical jargon.

I'm pretty sure her graduation and the new band are tearing her apart. Ulcers often come from stress, as does a weakening of the immune system. As Sayu said the other day, that was the first time Reina ever missed a concert because of being sick. Also, her blog has been filled with posts about how she's having nightmares and hasn't been sleeping.

Well I hope they give her all the time she needs to get back to 100%. No question I would rather have a few months of delay over having her try and power through this.

I'm sure life in Morning Musume was pretty damn easy for her, laid back to the point she more then likely phoned in half of what she did. I can see that sometimes in her performances. Now that she's being pushed out into the real world, it's probably very stressful for her. Now she has to be a leader, grow up and do something she isn't comfortable with, with a group of people she hasn't even known a year.



And Reina being sick is kind of amazing because I don't think she's ever been sick, ever. Sure she might have had a little cold, but she never missed anything. So now I feel bad for her and hope she gets better, as well as some rest. Girl needs some rest! :<

So sad. a Peptic Ulcer, Esophogus weakening, and reuccuring nightmares must mean she's been stressed out lately. I'd imagine she's in a lot of pain too, considering a peptic ulcer is when you have a hole in your stomach lining and the stomach acid seems out.

I hope she gets better soon, I would hate to see this completely halt the rest of her career.

The band, upcoming tour for both Momusu and Lavender she was running herself ragged. They need to give her as much rest as needed and then some. At her graduation she should be as healthy as ever so no one will feel the need to worry. I hope she gets better soon. : (

Interesting. Makes me wonder exactly what was stressing her out. I know I can stress that badly about little stuff, so I wonder if she's just feeling stressed about the changes coming up. Or if she's actually being overworked.

That would be called a "perforation" and would require emergency surgery (with a nice big tummy scar). Peptic ulcer is when the first layer of the stomach is damaged. Depending on the cause it can take as little as a few days of antibiotics to be cured.

Wow. Ulcers suck. I felt awful when I had one, and I had a pretty easy school schedule at the time, so I can only imagine what being busy, stressed out, and not sleeping does to an ulcer. I hope she gets better soon!

This is one thing H!P has over kpop and even AKB48 - when their girls are down and out, even with a cold or sinus infection, they get some time off. A member of a kpop group (even a less popular one) passes out during a performance from a fever of 102? They get ushered into a van to receive a shot, and they're right back out, sometimes even in time to finish the concert, and you can damn well bet that if they WEREN'T back on stage for the last couple songs, they'll be right up there the next night like nothing happened. I've seen kpop idols pass out two or three times within just 6 months, and anyone who watched the AKB48 documentary saw the toll stress was taking on Acchan, both physically and mentally. I like knowing that H!P girls are allowed some down time - it explains why so many idols have said UFP is such a hard company to get into; because they simply treat their employees better than most.

I hope Reina gets well soon. I can't imagine the amount of stress she is under now and I wonder if this will influence her performing in the future. My mom used to get a lot of ulcers when she was stressed, so there is a chance this could be a reoccurring thing. I really hope I'm wrong though.

Yeah, now it looks more like her. But kudos to her, she's getting cuter! Meaning she's learned how to make non-awkward expressions in photos.



Mizuki's hand is so unfortunate in this shot though. And to be slightly on topic, in the second picture I can kind of tell Reina looks tired. She looks less excited about being a duck than usual.
