Momusu on TV for the first time in a while — LOVE Machine! ♪
Atarimae Taisou... lolololol
Some of those are funny!
I love Atarimae Taisou xD
For a foreign fan, it is very true that we value the performance and line distribution more. We no longer have shows like Hello!Morning that were geared towards incorporating all the members and not just a few. We can't go to all the concerts and see the MCs or listen to all the radio shows. It's a treat when a H!P group gets put onto a television show, and an extra special one if they are given time to talk.
The most interesting tidbit I took from that blog post is the fact that there is a blog out there that translates H-O threads into Japanese. Was a pretty fascinating read overall though.
Also, this really interesting comment on foreign fandom:

Video material is all the foreign wota have, so they care way more about the line distribution than us Japanese. (laughs)
When °C’s SHOCK! came out, there were foreign wota giving Airi so much shit about it.
I know for a fact that line distribution is a very common complaint on H-O (and sometimes here too) when it comes to releases, is it really because we mostly have music videos and performances to go off of?
I don't put a lot of stock into 2ch, I feel like that's the equivalent of saying "Omg, what do the people at H!O saying, I must know!!" As Masa pointed out before, they don't represent the entire Japanese fandom.
That said, I agree with PQ - if you're a fan of someone who isn't a front girl and you don't live in Japan, you have a lot less opportunity to see them. If you can't speak Japanese, you're at even more of a disadvantage because even if you download their TV/radio/streaming media shows you can't understand what's going on.
But even if you are a Japanese fan (or, like rob, are a foreigner that lives in Japan and speaks Japanese), you have to be a pretty hardcore fan with some cash to burn to see that much of your favorite girl if she's not a front girl. If you want to go to all those dinner shows/bus tours/bday events and such where you see a lot more of the girls, you not only have to be a FC member, you have to pay the ticket price on top of that. Many events are done by lottery, so being in the fanclub doesn't necessarily guarantee you get to go. If you want to go to handshake events you have to buy a bunch of CDs. A fair amount of these events take place during the week, so if you have a full time job or school you still might not get to go. H!P doesn't visit that many cities in Japan, so if you don't live near one of those four or five cities they actually go to, you might spend quite a bit on travel just to go to a concert.
So I don't know that exposure is entirely the reason. I think some of it is just that unlike the super hardcore 2ch wota, we like to see our favorites do something and not just be eye candy.
