I haven't paid much attention to S/mileage in awhile, and wow all of them have really improved. Akari didn't annoy me nearly as much as she usually does, and even Kana sounds okay.

Meimi is ALWAYS killing it. I need a Meimi/Sakura duet at an H!P concert stat.

Whoa, how did I miss that? That was an awesome performance. Vocally, S/mileage is getting to be pretty solid. Kanon is definitely one of the best singers in H!P. She's seriously underrated because of the screechy S/mileage baby voice (and because of a couple of bad performances), but she's really good. I wish she wasn't in S/mileage because her voice is naturally quite low and she doesn't do cute very well at all. But her vocal training from outside of H!P makes her stand out a lot to me. She can really belt out her lines when she wants to. She just ... knocks my socks off sometimes, ha ha. Meimi is improving rapidly. I think she'll probably achieve Kanon's level of stability before long. Akari has actually improved a lot as well. I think her dancing holds her back a bit. It's fun to watch, but she has trouble controlling her voice as it is, and the violent dancing makes it even messier. But her voice is very strong, and when she holds it together, she can sound quite good. Rina is decent. Her voice is a bit thin and weak, but it's fine. Dawa and Kana are rough, but they aren't the worst H!P has to offer. Really, it's quite a strong group. Not as strong as before, but still very strong. I wish more people would realize it.

This group is getting shafted hard core in the music department. They are all capable singers and performers. You can tell this mostly during the medley when they aren't singing their own songs. Even Kana has gotten better .



I want a full solo of Kanon singing Boogie Train, Meimi can join too.



In fact, just keep letting Kanon and Meimi sing everything. I wouldn't mind.



And then they sing Namida Girl, two of my favorite Miki songs in a row. I'm done.

I agree with everything you said until the last part. Kana can be a bit rough, I agree there, but Dawa has improved SO, SO much. I think she is one of the ones I enjoy watching perform the most in the few clips of the concert I've seen so far. Her voice is by no means Meimi or Kanon, but she gives it her all while performing, and it's adorable watching her get so into it. I always considered her to be the weakest link of the group, but she really has come into her own.



This group has been a pleasant surprise for me since the 2nd generation was added, but I feel like they are more a group now than they were with Yuuka and Saki. Yuuka always seemed like she was holding back because she wasn't as outgoing as the other three. It was one thing that always bothered me about watching her perform. She always seemed so reserved, and I always felt like it brought down the level of the group (Dawa at least jumped around and tried to get into it). Here, all the members are bringing their "A" game, and it's awesome.



H!P concerts are always my favorite, so I think I might have to download this. This has to be the first concert I've downloaded in a good two years...

I actually sat and watched the whole thing, and that's a lot coming from me. I still haven't finished watching Rival Survival yet.



I'm surprised, this is the first real concert series S/mileage has done where the 2nd gen aren't sub members. That felt like such a long time ago. I guess S/mileage just don't do that many concerts yet. :\



The concert itself has Kana and Akari sing, but the extras had Rina and Meimi's part. Of the two, Rina and Meimi did the better job, but mad props for Kana for growing leaps and bounds from where she started. Akari may need another year at least to work on her goat.

I really want to watch the concert because I feel like I almost completely ignore S/mileage. However, I probably won't because I have to download a bunch of shit onto my nook because the crappy old computer isn't hooked up to, and my grandma won't let me on the new computer. Then I have to go use my nook as a usb for my old computer for terrent extraction, then put it back on my nook. I'm not confident It'll play on my nook, but we'll find out.

It seems to be getting good feed back so I'll try watching it.

I keep forgetting to torrent this. Meimi is like so wow. I really like these songs. In "Nee,Senpai," I dunno why, the dance seemed too hardcore for Dawa haha. And holy shit Kanyon reminded me way too much of Kago at one point, it freaked me out.



The second costumes are pretty revealing, but I remember some MoMusu outfits (LOVE IS ALIVE specifically comes to mind, but I'm sure there are plennnnnty) where they had costumes like that, and most of the girls were pretty young so...par for the course.

This concert was filmed in October, if you remember, Wada injured herself on the 1st day of the concert in September. This is probably why she isn't dancing as hard core as the others. But the fact that she's still dancing is a credit to her.

I got this concert DVD a week ago and started watching it last night (finished the first hour) and I'm really enjoying it. Kanon and Meimi are the "Reina and Riho Show" of this group, which is a good thing, in my book. I think they're both superb and make up for the weaker performers in the group (Ayaka and Rina). Kanon is clearly the de facto leader. I'm seeing her as one of the rising stars of H!P. The group has an energy that reminds me of peak Berryz (ca. 2008-2009) and peak C-ute (ca. 2010). I'll give a full report when I'm finished.



Oh, and I'm assuming that the group of five girls in green plaid whom I didn't recognize and who show up to do a number are Eggs, right? I haven't seen the end credits yet, so I don't know which ones they are. The Eggs do a number in the H!P Winter 2013 concert also and it was the first time I've seen them do one in a concert I own.
