I'm happy about all of those things, but I'm sad that we're missing out on Rika/Sayu/Risako Biyuuden, Berryz Shabondama, Kei/Kaori/MM Daite, and the Momo/Maasa/Mano/Zukki/Kana shuffles. I think we got the Miki solo by fluke because they were trying to include a day with all the missing people back in action. I like the song and all, but I've seen Miki perform it solo plenty. I would have liked to have seen one of the collabs instead.

Sayumi had to sing this at her audition. That's probably the only reason for her role in this song.

Mizuki... Is she is going to be marketed as the sexy one?

The 2nd half is spot on! Also, Risako has a bit of Saito's vibrato.

Maybe I'll pick this up after all. I was super impressed with all of the shuffles posted so far. Good Morning seems like it was a blast to be in attendance for. Miki is still perfection. And it looks like Risako got Momoko's Asian Celebration lines so I'm a happy camper.



/edit And by shuffles I mean where the other groups covered the other groups' songs? I was way more impressed by MMs Anata Nashi de than I expected.



/edit again. I forgot to mention that Green Fields still bores me to death but I always crack up when Aika whips out the recorder. I also found it pretty funny how the kenshuusei seemed into it l, but everyone else looked so bored. Especially Risako and Reina.

Okay, I got the Blu-ray of this concert and I watched Disc 1: Viva! Bravo!



What was odd about it was that four girls were missing from the lineup:

MM: Masaki Sato

Berryz: Momoko

S/mileage: Ayaka Wada and Rina Katsuta.



Has there ever been a concert before where more than one girl was missing? (I seem to remember that the H!P Winter 2004 concert was missing Asami Konno and one of the H!P Kids, although I can’t recall which one.)



The one extra on the disc included four numbers from another date on the tour featuring all four missing girls, including a duet of….an unidentified song by Ayaka and Riho. (I can’t find a real tracklist for this concert anywhere.)



Which begs the question: why didn’t they just use a concert from another date, where all the girls were there, for the concert DVD?



I must confess I prefer S/mileage without those two. I keep liking them more and more with each thing I see them in. I’ve got their latest concert DVD and I plan to watch that soon.



There was a totally unexpected guest star and I leaped off my sofa applauding and cheering loudly when she appeared. She’s been mentioned in this thread already, but if you’re planning on watching the Blu-ray, I’ll let you be surprised. It wasn’t Miki, though, who was nowhere to be found on this disc-—maybe she’s in the next one.



I was totally taken aback by the appearance of a stranger, Asahi Tasaki, who I can identify only because her name was in the end credits. She’s a soloist who sings a song, “Rolling Days,” and plays the keyboard. I read the Wiki page on her and I still don’t get what she was doing at this concert. I’m still trying to process the “new” members of S/mileage and the latest member of Morning Musume. Don’t throw a completely unknown entity at me.



Speaking of Sakura Oda, this was the first time I’ve gotten to see her perform, other than a couple of recent MM music videos. I wish they’d given her more to do.



Erina performs with S/mileage a lot. Going back to the way she started as a solo artist--with the four Eggs who would become S/mileage as her backups. (Did Tsunku know he was going to form a group out of them when they were assigned as Mano's backups?)



I liked the idea of the groups singing each other’s songs. I wish there’d been more special numbers like this.



There were a lot of good numbers in this one, but I kept wanting something truly special and I didn’t get it, other than that one guest star. And that was real brief.

Berryz had to cancel a few concerts once when everyone came down with the flu. But that didn't make it to DVD. The last time someone was not in the DVD for being sick was Maasa when she had the flu during a H!P concert. It seems that the winter H!P concerts are always cursed with sickness. Especially this concert series. I think a record 6 people were out throughout the concert series, including Reina, Aika, and Haruka.



They usually film at every concert, but they pick the last show in Tokyo to film the concert. Seems to be rare that they don't. Other concert halls may not have a setup that is as good to do the filming required. I have no idea. But it's always seems to be that way these days.

Those Satoumi units look like fun, given the predominance of most of my favorite H!P members. I mean, Nacky, MaiMai and Fukuda in one unit? What's not to love? I'm just a little leery of the line, "Their goal is to preserve the sea." I'd rather their goal was to sing good songs, dance up a storm and entertain us. Stay away from the water. Please! Besides, it's Mother Nature's job to preserve the sea and I imagine she'll do just fine once she finds a way to get rid of those pesky humans.





So I what I watched was Disc 1: Viva, and not Bravo. (The way the order on CDJapan was listed, it made it sound like "Viva! Bravo!" was the first concert in the 2-disc Blu-ray case and "Kanzen Ban" was the second.)



The set list linked for "Viva!" gives some of the wrong extras. MM sings "Wakuteka Take a Chance" and not "Help Me!!" Berryz sings "Massara Blue Jeans" and not "Asian Celebration." S/mileage sings a song I don't know so I can't confirm whether that's the one listed or not.

I watched Morning Musume.'s version of anata nashi de wa ikite yukenai too. Erina's expression reminds me of Risako too. Erina always looks like, so blank and unexcited. And if she doesn't look like that, she looks like she's on the verge of tears. I want to like her more but have some goddamn emotion, girl!



Also, why the hell couldn't Sayumi hit that high note in the end line "isshou anata no koto"!? She totally blew that.

Why not? Not giving a shit apparently worked for Reina for years!



No one is really going all out in that medley. I don't know if they were all afraid to bump into each other with so many of them on the stage, but a lot of the dancing seemed way more muted than normal.



Sakura looks so thrilled to be there though, she's adorable.
