Re: What type of H!P Fan are you?
I'm mean, obviously I'm the BBS fan. Literally. That archetype is inspired on real life persons. Person. Me.
Re: What type of H!P Fan are you?
It would be sad if all the MMBBS members were not the MMBBS archetype.

I thought of one...Japanese scholar. The kind of fan who has studied Japanese, been to (probably lived in Japan), and knows all the language/cultural shit about every song/show/article, etc.

Then why don't you guys share all your "language/cultural" knowledge with us whenever a new song/show/article comes out? What's the point of developing that expertise if you don't share it?
Unless there's another thread or forum I'm missing just for that.

Yeah, and those of us who have studied the language/lived or visited the country bring up things when they are relevant within threads.

My apologies to you and Yuzuriha. I don't check out those threads very often.
(I was thinking more along the lines of detailed essays on the cultural meanings of the lyrics and images in PV's, e.g., the significance of that "crabbing" move in "Renai Hunter"? )

Re: What type of H!P Fan are you?
I was all on track and going to find out which one I am.... until she called Kanon 'Cannon'. I must have ADD, cause that's all I could think of for the rest of the video.

How do you pronounce Kanon?
This is a place where a signature goes. Enjoy some Airi instead.

Just the double letter that we never pay attention to in English but Japanese is all about.

Re: What type of H!P Fan are you?
Well, it seems cannon is said like "can-in", canon like, well, "Kanon" and can-own, well, like "can-own." So, I personally use the "canon" way of pronouncing. "Cannon" is like pronouncing "Yoshiki" "Yosheekey" it just kinda sounds wrong. It'd be easier to hear if someone spoke it, rather than in writing.

One thing google translate is good for! <a href="http://translate.google.com/?hl=en#ja/e ... ations.</a> (most of the time)
So, Japanese has 5 sound. A(ah) I(ee) U(oo) E(eh) and O(soft oh). The A can never make the 'ae' like sound the english word cannon makes. Sorry, this is one of my few pet peeves. Pronunciation, that is. lol.
And I made my own <a href="https://app.box.com/s/pck24my99yi2akjqq ... cording</a> of it. This is a correct pronuciation, but saying it in English, not with the whole Japanese sound.

The "n" goes with the "o" not the "a", which I think is where English speakers have issues.

Re: What type of H!P Fan are you?
Kinda like: Kah-No-Un
Ka-no-n (all short vowel sounds) and the N is like 'nnnnn'.
You could get away with pronouncing it like Cannon for English speakers.

This is funny, because jplop has this exact discussion before when trying to figure out how to pronounce her name.

Re: What type of H!P Fan are you?
You know, in my head I have perfect Japanese pronunciation, but as soon as I speak out loud my own accent gets in the way and just ruins everything I say. It turns into some monster word, KAHN-none

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmVG2cjpm4o">That's pretty close to how she says it.</a> Except it's hard to find a video of her saying it any slower than this.
