In the middle of a big cleanup since I'm alone in the office for the week. Hopefully this is just the jumpstart I need to get back on track.

I'm having a brain fart on this post:
http://ameblo.jp/takahashiai-blog/entry-11760706065.html
Takahashi customized an order at Sbux. Then she writes
<blockquote class="ipsBlockquote">
<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif;font-size:13.333333015441895px;">店員さんに言われるがままだったけど、、
<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif;font-size:13.333333015441895px;">

</blockquote>
Huh?
So the shop worker said her drink was "just okay" but Takahashi found it delicious? Do I need more coffee or is this illogical?

She's saying
"The drink was just as the server told me to make it, but...
It was Delicious"
So she got a customized drink and the barista probably told her what's good together and helped her out.
Regarding Mizuki...ぬぬぬ is also apparently slang from niconico douga for 'live broadcast' (生放送).

I'm sorry, I had a busy week so I'll catch up tonight. If eri, MissMoonlight or Skoban have some directives (like don't catch up some posts or only catch up special ones), let me know.
And, from tomorrow (4th) to the 12th, I'll have my korean correspondent at home so it will harder for me to prep ; I'll try but don't be surprised if I can't. I'm really sorry ^^'.

No pressure - I am pretty busy too lately.
So from today until the 12th, just 1-3 entries would be great. In fact, you can just drop it down to 1 per day total if you want. I'm probably going to have a baby soon and can't imagine translating much after this anyhow. (In fact, even the ones now are showing signs of my foggy mental state.)
As for which 1 (or 3 or more) to choose, I tend to gravitate towards the ones with the prettiest pictures Takahashi's blog is more or less a sparsely worded fashion journal anyhow.

Speaking of foggy brain, I have another translation question.

I understand everything except "arinco." Nothing in the dictionaries I use and not even casual googling is helping much. I suspect it has something to do with ants (ari) but am not sure. Anyone have a clue??

My WordPress doesn't work tonight.. well... I'll wait a bit and see if it works later...
Oh, so I guess you're tired ; if you want me to stop prepping, just sent me a short PM and I'll restart when you'll be avaliable :) !
Based on that, it actually could mean "ants" but in a childish way (and maybe the use of katakana could support that childish way.. but as I'm only a beginner in Japanese, I only could guess and couldn't affirm).

It's more than likely just "ants" like Meikochi said, though there is apparently a bakery named アリンコ, but I'm pretty sure that's not what she's talking about.

Yes, アリンコ is "ant" in children's language! It took several taps for my IME to bring up the kanji version, so the katakana version is apparently more common.
I have considered going through other girls' blogs, but would that be okay? I figured it would be best to ask first. Also, while I won't be able to keep translating Mai's posts (I will post here when it gets to that point), I might be able to permanently take on Captain if that's okay.

You guys are so helpful. Thanks! I wonder what dictionaries and other resources people use.
I tend to stick with www.alc.co.jp since it will pick up other people's translations (vs dictionary definitions) but it is kind of lacking. When it doesn't help, I'll use Tangorin or a similar online J --> E dictionary or if that doesn't work, I just google the word in Japanese (sometimes with a +意味 or an +英語).

Just do the latest whenever you have the time, priority on Riho.
I'll keep tabs on anything that looks interesting, and I'll update you once you have the time.

I am also curious about the disappearance of rokun. In the mean time, I wonder if someone want to pick up Maachan. She rarely posts but the content may be hard to interpret. There are current 5 drafts and will not be growing anytime soon.

Hm... I don't know... I could try to tackle Maachan, but just in browsing I noticed her most recent draft is truncated because of those "illegal" characters.
I also saw there are over 100 drafts for Miyazaki Yuka. o_o

FYI I poked both rokun and Taylor. Will let you know when/if they reply, but I suppose for now the prepping can stop.

I fixed it now. I don't know why I didn't notice it. Maybe it's Maachan's secret magic (totally exaggerating). I think that phrase is related to Omotenashi judging from the gesture.
Thank you for taking a look at Maachan's drafts. If you don't understand what she wrote, then you are quite normal.
Hm... I don't know... I could try to tackle Maachan, but just in browsing I noticed her most recent draft is truncated because of those "illegal" characters.
I also saw there are over 100 drafts for Miyazaki Yuka. o_o

Re: Lets work on blog!project! - ARCHIVED - SEE FIRST POST FOR IMPORTANT INFO AND LINKS
Hey guys, I'm sorry for being out for so long >_< I received your PM, aine...
I've been busy and tired over this awful winter we've been having, and haven't really been up to keeping up with translating. At this point I'm not really sure what to say going forward, although if anyone is interested in maybe picking up some of the blogs I did, then let me know. Yuki, though it'd pain me since I've been with her from the beginning, since Captain does post a lot if you'd like to take her on permanently, feel free. I noticed you also said you'd stop doing Mai's, and those are ones I'd really like to do at this time... Sadly i don't think I'll be able to continue Yuka's, and unless someone really wants to go back and do all those drafts, they can just be deleted with prepping stopped. Any other C-ute girls anyone would like to do, go right ahead as well since those I think are the ones which seem to overwhelm me the most. If there are only 5 Maa-chan drafts I'll try my best to get them done soon...
Edit: Ok I looked at Maa-chan's and saw Yuki had started on most of them, so maybe you're all right with them for now...

Oh, no! If you most want to do Captain (and Mai), please go ahead! I can finish the drafts I'm currently working on and take on someone else to help you out that way. ^^
Lol Maachan is a little difficult to understand. Although I started on it, the long "I'm sorry" post is a little much for me; I think I can do the others. (Also, I'm assuming by "GBM" she means がんばります, but I would like to check that as I could be wrong... http://ameblo.jp/morningmusume-10ki/entry-11757015462.html )

Well I caught up with the Risako drafts, and started on Miya's. After looking at it a bit more it seems skoban has picked up Chisato and Nacky too which is of course fine (sorry to not read back if you talked about it). I take it no one's doing Airi though? Maybe I can work on her, and Ayu as well if I catch up otherwise.
Yuki, so do you not want to finish those Maa-chan posts? If not I can try and do them. Abbreviations like that I might not be too sure of either lol, though it depends on the context.

Skoban has been doing Airi's too. I'm not sure if Ayumin has any drafts, actually, unless I just searched wrong. Maybe I can try doing Miyazaki Yuka's then, sans all that backlog.
You can if you like! I'll focus on finishing the in-progress Mai drafts instead.

I haven't prepped Ayumin's blog since New Year so that is one month of no draft.

I feel like it means a puffy face or something but...um...only finding perverted definitions via Googling.
Just fyi, I am probably not going to be really on top of translations for a while. Since Iikubo only blogs 1x day, I think I'll be okay doing things in short bursts.

Just a heads up that I translated Riho's Jogakuin radio show blog post.
Hunting down all those emoticons makes me appreciate the job that the preppers do.
@rokun: I think the best thing for now would be to figure out what you want and can do moving forward. I think it'll be easier on all of us once it's clearer what holes need to be filled.
As for the C-ute girls, I'm almost caught up with Airi. Nacky and Chisato were initially a hole-filling exercise to get their Berryz Budokan and New Years' posts caught up, and somehow got them up to the latest date and been keeping them there, partly because C-ute has had a birthday bonanza this week.

Putting the word in Google images gives me mostly photos of girls with puffy faces (and nothing particularly perverted, to my disappointment), so I think you're on the right track.
I'm guessing that it's a cute way of saying 'mukumi', which means swollen (goo definition with a relevant example)

Re: Lets work on blog!project! - ARCHIVED - SEE FIRST POST FOR IMPORTANT INFO AND LINKS
Kinda related, but apparently someone on Twitter did an analysis on active H!P member blogs.
I put in some of the numbers into a Google spreadsheet, with number of posts per day, average characters per post, and average characters per day.
So I guess you have objective data on which member writes the 'longest' post.
As the original analysis notes (14), the ones with longer blog posts tend to use polite language. Unless they're Maimi.
In summary, Maimi is a beast.
Also possibly of interest to preppers, point (11) notes the number of emoticons used, and (10) notes number of photos per post.
