(To be honest I mixed up Ichioka and Inoue, my bad.) Other than that, I might have thought of her because she's the next most senior to Ichioka and Kaga.
 
I agree with what you said about Kaga, though. Additionally it seems like the Japanese fandom doesn't find her too cute (which apparently seems to be the most important factor now).

She isn't on your list but Onoda Saori has basically been getting the Karin pre-debut anime treatment so I wouldn't be surprised to see her picked. She's still young enough that they could throw her into a new group if one comes out in the next couple of years.


I can't really look at the trainees and say that this girl is what they're looking for, especially after 12th gen. Maria and Akane weren't really Kenshuusei unknowns but neither one was anywhere near the best the program had to offer the way Sakura was at the time. Most of the girls who were the best of the bunch either left or ended up in the other groups (except Tsubaki, I'll forever maintain they only debuted them to keep them from leaving).

I think Kaga should stay around long enough to add to Angerme. Angerme is really on high performance levels, and Kaga and Meimi kind of resemble each other depending on angle. But besides that Kaga and Takase just need to go somewhere.

If they pick any of the girls I think it'll be either from the last two generations. (24th please, Half of 25th still look like train wrecks.)

They could easily make a new UF group, not necessarily a H!P group. They have CBC, Up Up Girls, Bitter and Sweet, Lovendor and now Miya's group. It's obvious they are starting to make groups outside of H!P and build their selves up as something other than Hello!Project and a few of these other acts. So I could see the older more well trained girls going into that route. If they want to stick around and don't give up.

Kurumi wasn't even that good to be honest. But maybe it's just the recording, because I was surprised how bad Ruru sounded in the beginning, too.
 
Yumei is beyond hope, but we all know that, I think.

After listening to the whole thing at once, Watarasebashi (Onoda Saori) and Hatsukoi Cider (Danbara Ruru) were the ones I particularly liked.

I was hoping Momohime would be good at singing, in addition of being really cute and I haven't been disappointed with her Tsumetai Kaze to Kataomoi ; she needs to work on her falsetto but she was pretty good on the rest in my opinion. She's young so she has plenty of time to improve.

Thoughts:
 
I'm glad Mao got the dance award, she's such a great dancer.
Onoda surprised me with her performance. Not to mention how she ended it, lol. I preferred her performance to Takase's--at least with no video. Her talking skills were pretty good, too... Even though she noted she was nervous.
Yonemura's singing wasn't particularly bad but The Matenrou Show needs more energy than what she gave it.
Danbara did well, as I suspected. I think she may have been a bit off guard since Hatsukoi Cider starts so suddenly.... But she's my #1 fav, so I'm very biased. I do think she sounded a bit screamy, though.
Nakano Rion is just sooo cute, she's really high in my Kenshuusei ranking.
Ono Mizuho did better than I thought she would. I haven't paid much attention to her.
Kiyono will probably be someone somewhat prominent in H!P by the time she debuts... She seems like that type of idol.

I liked Akiyama's facial expressions a lot, and I know she's an awesome dancer (though they didn't show it on the digest.)
Kodama's outfit was funnier than I imagined from the recording--such a cute little tomato.
Noguchi was sooooooo beautiful. I'll definitely be watching her.
Disappointed with Kaga's performance.... She's been going down on my list for a while now, starting with her attitude.
Of course, Danbara rocked my socks off. Her expressions and movements were a leap and bound over what they were last year. I still felt like her voice was off, though.
Nakano Rion is just hnnnnngh.
Kanatsu was very cute, well put-together and seemed comfortable on stage.
 
 
Overall, the Kenshuusei's facial expressions were definitely better this time around.  Singing wise.... well....
