Someone remind me why this girl shouldn't be carrying a good portion of the load in MM right now? She's already a better singer than every member sans Sakura.

I honestly think she's better than Sakura. I think she's better than most of current H!P honestly.

Her rendition of <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://youtu.be/AO2vHf-Vjs4' class="bbc_url" title="External link">Let It Go</a> was wonderful. Ruru STARTED "training" already way too good to be there. That girl is a true singer and needs to be utilized already.

Ruru is actually the only member of her kenshuusei generation left. Yokogawa Yumei and Oura Hirona both left without debuting, Yamaki Risa is in Country Girls, as is Musubu. Kisora is in Tsubaki Factory, and Haga is in MM. Other than Musubu, they're all painfully untalented, which must sting.

They have to be saving her for MM then, right? Unless there is something going on that the general public is not aware of. 
 
Even if she's terrible at everything else, that voice is enough to carry her in MM of all groups.

I mean, they let Tanabe Nanami go and not only was she fairly talented, she was literally THE most popular one. Once she left, Hamaura Ayano and Murota Mizuki took her spot (they did both end up debuting, although Ayano was in the program for nearly four years). Yoshihashi Kurumi comes to mind as another kenshuusei who was popular and much more talented than a lot of the girls who have debuted the past two years or so. As does Kaga Kaede, who is still there but is almost to the point where she'll be too old to audition for anything. But we've discussed her in particular and why we think she won't debut.
 
So, unfortunately, no. Not necessarily. If she isn't in 13th gen, her odds are very slim unless they hold auditions again next year. 
 
She seems like an obvious addition, but lots of other girls that people thought were shoo-ins ended up somewhere else.

If it were any agency other than H!P I might agree but face it, H!P has a huge track record of passing over true talent and instead going for girls who are cute but completely talentless. Heck, they made a whole group of girls who can't sing to save their lives and yet left all of their best singers sitting in kenshuusei. Obviously we don't know what goes on behind closed doors but I've never seen or read anything that makes me think that Ruru has an attitude or work ethic problem. I really think it's because she's not stereotypically cute and they wouldn't be able to plaster her face everywhere or sell photo books. Honestly, if she gets passed up again, or gets chosen but then shunted to the back as I suspect she will, I hope she leaves UF and signs with a different agency. Surely there are agencies that want someone with a voice that nice who already has really good stamina and control, right?

Yes, but if you have your heart set on being an idol, it's hard to do better than H!P even though they're not putting out stars anymore.
 
Kaga is truly the only girl in the program who I think is being held back by her attitude, and it isn't even that she has a 'bad' attitude. It's also worth nothing that 12th gen is the only gen Ruru has been passed up for, if we're talking about just MM. She's been around for nearly three years, but there haven't actually been that many auditions. Only the two 12th gen auditions and Angerme's 4th gen, unless I'm mistaken. And I think people would have been more disappointed than anything if she had ended up in either of Country Girl's gens, because they have absolutely nothing to offer a girl of her ability. Karin was passed up for S/mileage's 2nd gen, MM's 9th, 10th and 11th gens and still didn't debut despite being considered an obvious audition for literally all of them so it's not right to assume that if someone so obviously ready isn't debuting that it's because of a serious personality issue.

It isn't the quantity that is off-putting, its that no one has settled in yet (Hokkaido, Kassa, Tsubaki), but I guess they need that fluff for back-up dancers.
