Anytime I see an overuse of either Oda or Mizuki I automatically think that it's meant for Masaki.

I'm in the minority in that I love white outfits but why for this song? Nothing about those outfits meshes with the preview we heard... even if they made them all black, it'd be a vast improvement, but there's nothing really sassy frassy.

Also apparently "Jealousy" is pronounced a lot like "Chelsey" which is Nonaka's nickname, so I have a feeling her parts are safe.

That'd be a cute reason! 
 
But while in English itself it is really similar, in Japanese, they are bit too different; JERASHII vs CHERUSHII. In the rip, rather than trying to sound as close to English as possibly with "jealousy", they chant "JERASHII" like that over and over.

I figured Nonaka got a lead because not only is she the most apt to sing the English parts (along with Oda), but I hear her at :32-:35, :40-:44, :57-1:00, 1:14-1:17, 1:22-1:24 and obviously on all the Jealousy(s). So her and Oda are basically alternating singing solos/with a group.
 
I had assumed this would happen, either by a predetermined choice from the company or if Nonaka just went all out in the recording session as she should. This was her chance, with Maa-chan gone, to really get her foot in the door again. Now if she just kills it on stage/when performing the song she could set herself up pretty nicely.

I'm generally indifferent to Brand New Morning, but I quite like Jealousy Jealousy. Chel had a lot of the rap part.... I kinda liked it? The lighter voice rapping was refreshing from the usual deep voices, and I died at the "Lover lover lover lover boy".... I liked it.
 
Glad Nonaka was able to really put herself out there on this single. I'll say it over and over--this single was her chance and I would've been really disappointed if she flopped on it.

Miki maining one of the songs is probably the best that could come out of the whole situation. They really need to push 12th gen a bit now that we seem to have two really interesting 13th gen members.
 
I'm still so-so about both songs. As mentioned before, they're definitely not bad. I really like the instrumentals of JJ, especially in the beginning, but as soon as the singing starts I can't think anything but "meh". 
Maybe it'll grow on me once we get the MV. 
 
And I hope that MV will be more than a glorified dance shot.

If Lim A was done properly it'd actually look pretty cool I think... but Reg B drives me crazy... It's so light/bright you can't see the white costumes well. STOP DOING WHITE COSTUMES.

Do we really need another We're-the-NEW-Morning-Musume thing? I like Yokoyama better but if they gave her that solo line in the chorus they could have at least let Kaede start the dance break instead of Yoko to balance it out.

Maybe it's just my perception but based on this PV they already have Yokoyama so above Kaede in terms of priority? she also got a ton of close-ups.

 
Maria, Akane and Ogata were literally invisible so I hope they get something in Jealousy.
