I really dig Reina's voice now. That's a great version of that song.
Speaking of great versions of songs, here's Aibon performing a heavily pared-down version of "Hare Ame Nochi Suki" on her YT channel. It feels like they cut out half of the song, yet it still checks in at a conventional 3-and-a-half minutes. As usual, Aibon rules.

Damn, nice. I'm just so glad we get musical content from those not under Up Front anymore. Social media can be a curse, but it can also be really, really good.
Re: UFP/OG Spam Thread :: All things non-Hello!Project Related!
Sayuki tweeted that she will have a big announcement on the 11th at 7 pm (Japanese time).
I hope she's coming back. As in, becoming active in producing music again.

I was expecting this tweet back in February, thinking there would be a one year no-compete arrangement with UF, and when it hadn't come by April, I was worried Sayubee was just done with her entertainment career. I haven't been this excited for a post-H!P career since... ever.

That Maa/Yuki duet is really nice. I wonder if Maa is doing content for M-line's channel just to keep busy or if she's decided that UF is where she's gonna do her solo stuff? I know she talked about how much respect she had for Riho doing her own thing, but the flip side of that coin is Murotan. I hope she sticks with Up-Front, and I hope they give her some measure of creative input.
Old school. Would make for a great album song, and I mean this in the best sense possible.

So about Sayuki...
No real musical comeback, but an own company. Interesting. I can't see where she is going though.

Questions about Aya Matsuura:
I listened to Petit Best 6 and really liked the Aya song on it, “Ki ga Tsukeba Anata,” but I didn’t recall it. I’ve listened to all her albums recently and I didn’t notice that song. So I looked her up on Generasia and apparently that single, from 2005, is not on any of her albums.
Why not?
Also, her last single, Chocolate Damashii, is not on any of her albums either, not even her last one, Click You Link Me, which came out a year later, in 2010. Why wasn’t it included?
Thanks.

Without knowing what she has planned, my guess is that her singing will be at least a part of it. After my initial "wtf" reaction, I think this is a solid -- if a bit risky -- decision. And honestly, the payoff is probably greater than a conventional solo career when you consider the post-H!P solo career track record. Especially if the company she were to sign with wasn't 100% committed to putting resources into her (see, Avex/Maki Goto). Nono, Aibon and Mikitty have shown that YT, done right, can offer full control and be lucrative for ex-H!Pers.

Often, singles will be omitted from albums when there is a significant period of time between their release dates, or if they just don't fit the feel of the album. Lots of MM tracks don't make proper studio albums.Madara wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 4:04 pm Questions about Aya Matsuura:

Justin Kanda on Twitter gives some more details. The YT channel is just a part of a larger management company that Sayuki is building.
This is actually amazing, and I'm pulling for her to be successful with it.

Also for Chocolate Damashii, she graduated from H!P right after its release.JPope wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 5:20 pmOften, singles will be omitted from albums when there is a significant period of time between their release dates, or if they just don't fit the feel of the album. Youplus -- the group comprised of former idols, including Kana Nakanishi and Haruna Ogata -- released their first single today, "Delight / Bokutachi no Shippai."
Neither of these move the needle for me, which is disappointing considering their first digital release as Youplus, "Last Laugh" was pretty decent. They definitely took a step backwards in terms of songwriting and production with this, as both tracks sound more like demos than final masters, which is an odd decision for a debut physical release.

Dayum, so not only did Non and Taiyou build that new blinger house, they kept the old one to use as a studio.

That's awesome. I like that the company is open to bringing graduates back even after they've been gone for extended periods.

Fascinating, I imagine she must have something lined up already if that's the case.

How awesome would it be if she did a cover of "Future Smile"?

And here it is: "Diamond"
I do like this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for something with a little more excitement than this . That said, goddamn Sayuki is good. A lot of singers with her voice would give in to the temptation to over-sing this, and she doesn't.

I do agree. It's definitely not the most exciting song, but those emotions... even I got a bit teary-eyed towards the end.
She really knows how to use her voice.
