Maki's performance is really good; the arrangement could really use a bass part, though, because it's kind of important to the feel of the song. On the other hand, that guitar solo is tasty.

When you know a singers voice then it’s pretty easy to tell who they are. I could tell LeAnn Rimes was on the masked singer before she won because I knew her voice. Sometimes a singer will mask their voice a little but other times they just can’t because it’s so distinctive.

To be fair, yeah, same (for the show in my countries at least).

I remember during the first season of The Masked Singer Japan some people thought Kamei Eri was the Neon Panda (who turned out to be Minegishi Minami).

Oh, I forgot to post this one where Venus (Maki), Takopuri, Lamb and Hero sing "LOVE Machine." That's a pretty big hint right there. But it's obvious when you already know who it is, and with Maki having been out of the public eye for so long, it probably took most people a while to catch on.

Gaki is back with a mini-album! NIIGAKI RISA1

Releases September 16, not a full week from now. Four songs:

01. Chotto Dake
02. Fuyu no Lion
03. KARMA
04. Kimiiro Chocolate Village

All are written, composed and produced by Kanamori Masaaki, who directed the drama "Nibiiro Chocolate Village" (which Gaki was starring in in February this year).

They just released photos of the C-ute reunion at MaiMai's wedding. Is there a thread devoted to that here? Or a source in English with more detail? Thanks.

We don't have a threat here, and afaik there's not much information out there.
Mai posted the photos on C-ute-Day (today), she invited the girls through their line group chat. And they sang songs together at the party.

AHHH This is so good I'm so, so happy! After she announced she was getting married again I was so scared there was going to be a 'preggo/retiring' announcement. I'm so glad to see her continue activities. I hope this gets some traction and she continues singing!

Okay, the backing track and overall mix is just awful. My guess is the waveform looks like a 2x4 with the lack of dynamics present. On the other hand, it's Maki fucking Goto singing Utakata Saturday Night! It's perfect. I love it when OGs perform newer H!P songs like this. It's one of my favorite things about the new-and-improved M-line, tbh.

Here's the video for Risamaru's first original song, "Docchi," from the forthcoming EP of the same name.

Honestly, it's not bad. It's nothing amazing, either -- and it's exactly the style of safe, easy pop I was expecting she'd get -- but I kinda dig it. The chorus melody feels very familiar, but I like it, so I don't care, lol.

Risa was never going to get anything too far out there, and this isn't, but it's way better than I was expecting. It's good enough to have generated mild excitement in me for the other three tracks to come from this release.
