This is not a serious thread. I have not said anything terribly serious in it, and anyone who has is silly. In case I have been confusing, I do not care who does and does not like Maimi (or any aspects about her). Everyone has flaws, etc., etc.



There are plenty of other great places to talk about serious stuff at this board. This thread is meant to be purely silly and fun.

Hmmm, so this is why you assume that I was SO SERIOUS and slamming Maimi and now LASHING OUT at AEUG? Actually, I was originally joking and pointing out the amusing irony of idol fandom. The OP was neither serious, nor a case for debate or discussion, nor angry. It was a glib little comment meant to contrast with the fandom. But, I'm the villain apparently because I lacked smileys. It is mysterious how forum discussion works and how emotions can be misread.



Now, however, I do feel annoyed at the apparent illogic of this entire thread development

--like, is talking about the idol's pro and cons -and how usually with idols, the cons are the pros -really "serious" debate and discussion? Maimi's hair cutting thread had a lot of serious discussion then. Because that, imo, is involved in fun and silly talk too. What the hell are we supposed to talk about then?

--and is mentioning anything slightly bad suddenly a statement on why an idol generally sucks? That doesn't make sense to me. As I wrote before, it isn't that conceptually difficult to be a fan and still admit the idol isn't that great at anything other than being cute.

--and how any disagreement must always mean that I'm antagonistic? Disagreement and elaboration on positions is not antagonistic. It is called discussion, clarification, etc. I feel like this is Freshman 101 when anything negative said at critique meant that the teacher must just personally hate you.

Hahaha, that post looks like a post that I've made on this BBS many times in the past, and yes it seems angry. I'm committing none of the logical fallacies you claim in your post, quite the contrary, as I've been victim to them more times on this BBS than days in the year, and argued against them to no avail <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dance:' /> We're not so different after all. I'd write out a post explaining why on each of your points, but its really not important. There was a lot of misunderstanding and typical internet inability-to-read-context going on and things got way out of hand. While the things I posted are very true to what I think, it was all in as joking a manner as I could've possibly intended, it just obviously wasn't interpreted that way.
