Hey, remember Ongaku Gatas?

No single announcement yet, but they DO have a concert in March so maybe this is just so they'll have some new material.

Man they might as well kick the eggs out because yet again, the OG OG are the only ones who get solo lines, it sounds like.

Sengoku Minami is the only real egg left. Korenaga Miki and Noto Arisa aren't eggs anymore, they hatched and flew the coop.

I think I might hear Noto but I'm not sure and I have no idea what Korenaga or Sengoku sound like.

This is totally unexpected but not so much since they had to have something new for people to want to come to one of their concerts. I'd go just to see Konno doing something besides being a college student, but that's just me. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pouty:' />

Well, I believe it's in April when you can see Konno on TV every single day as a TV Tokyo (I think that's who hired her) news reporter. From the Hello Morning news desk to Japan's biggest network. You go, Kon-Kon.

Since Gatas has been practicing so much lately, I'm hoping we'll get to see some new matches soon.

They're back, in pog form!

AND WITH SEMI-DISCO SOUND LIKE THEY SHOULD. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ohyeah.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pouty:' />

I love the epic first 3 seconds in the intro.

This sounds so familiar. Something TNX. I think the verses remind me of Gyaruru...

Nice to see Tsunku still writing for girls who were not READY! for their sudden KICK OFF!! from H!P.

HEY JOE SHEEN YES HEY JOE SHEEN!

I like it but I've liked all their singles so no change there then. Sounds like it could make for an kick-ass video, well I live in hope anyway <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pouty:' />.

I generally don't bother with previews, but you know I ain't missin' this one.

OH MY DREAM

I know misono's hungry, but stop letting Hexagon hog Satoda so we can have more of this.

Konno has definitely improved a lot over the years, but she's...about the only one. The thing that's always bothered me about Ongaku Gatas is they have all these belted, high power lines that most of their members sound awful doing. Their first two singles and some of their album tracks were good enough songs on their own for me to overlook the bad vocals, but this one isn't. All I'm hearing is strained wailing from Yossi and Rika. Mai is a little better suited for this style than the two of them, and it seems like she's much more popular these days, why not give her more lines? (Perhaps EmEl has the answer...MISONO HUNGRY) Yossi and Rika already have Hangry & Angry, and they sound a lot better on those songs where they're aided by lots of effects. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pouty:' />

So it's only me that actually thinks Yossie has a good voice then? I would rank her in the top 6 or 7 of MM singers over the years, maybe she could do with a bit more range and sometimes a bit more power but to my ears there have been a lot worse <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.

I will agree that it's hard to say anything too complimentary about Rika's vocal efforts but hey, she does try and looks good doing it.

I don't think Yoshizawa has a particularly great voice, but I personally love her strained wailing. It was one of the first things to hear from this song that made me happy. I'd probably trade the entire Hangry & Angry discography for a single dumb Ongaku Gatas pop song, complete with terrible Rika vocals.

Based on the structure of the already existing line distribution of the song, I would have to guess that Satoda might get a longer solo line later in the full song that no doubt will be longer than 2:45. But who can guess such things?

The single has been officially announced, it'll release on 3/6. It seems kind of last minute for a release announcement...I feel like usually we know these things ages in advance.

Anyway, the single only has this one track and it's instrumental. Cover:

What. That's terrible. :(

Hmm, I guess that's why there's only one song. I'm starting to not understand the reasoning for this release. Is it just too hard to get them all together to record something?

EDIT: Oh, I just saw that its product code has the TGCS that I was just talking about in the S/mileage thread. I suppose with the catalog number and it having only one track makes this most likely an indie release. How odd. The 3/6 release is probably because that's when the first show of their tour is, so they'll probably be selling it there. I'm certainly not seeing it in any online shops.

Yeah, they are probably trying to milk some easy money... But not a bad cover! I wonder if they are testing the market for an album or a proper single if that one sells well, like Melon Kinenbi's Onegai Miwaku no Target.
