Regional preference of H!P

Post by anpanman »

In early days of H!P, the birthplaces of the members were all around in Japan. Like Nara, Kyoto, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Hokkaido etc.

But later mebers' birthplaces are biased on Kanagawa Prefecture.

Is there any particular reason for that?

Well, it is true that a lot of HP members did come out of Hokkaido and, strangely enough, there weren't so many from Tsunku's own home area in Osaka (although there were quite a few from areas near it like Hyogo).

The presence of JunJun and LinLin in MM might mitigate against that argument.

And who ARE the "later mebers[sic]" you're citing? If you can find a pattern in, say, the Hello Pro Eggs of all or most hailing from Kanagawa, then that would, I suppose, be news. And there might possibly be a logistical or financial reason for it, given the sheer cost of recruiting from the various far-flung provinces. That would be worth asking. Maybe.

I've been wondering about something similar myself. Nearly every H!P kid is from the Kanto region (actually, not one comes to mind that ISN'T from Kanto region), whereas 1st gen Momusu for example was largely girls from Hokkaidou. Momusu still has a fair amount of variety - Niigaki and Eri are both from Kanto, while Aika is from Kansai, Takahashi is from Chubu, Sayu is from Chugoku, and of course the pandas are from...China.

I like that we've decided to take another ridiculous post from the same guy that's made nothing but retarded threads and make the best we can of it.

Soo continuing that trend, re: large amount of people from the Kanto region. All of the work they do takes place in Tokyo (aside from some concerts of course) so it makes sense for them to lean towards girls that live in that area, especially for the kids. That way they don't have to move into dorms, separate from families, or commute. It probably saves UFA money and helps them to avoid potential drama down the line.

Yes, I agree on that, it's just expensive to have someone from too far and parents wouldn't probably agree that easily. They usually have to go with the girls, abandon their own family, their jobs, for something that won't be as profitable as it would in the golden days. And in the beginning the girls were a bit older, not 13, and, after Maki, UF were a bit richer. And auditions are not what they used to be, they don't guarantee you'll enter a big group, just some training and maybe some gigs for your resume, makes the effort even less worthy. On the other hand, the last girls to get into the group were broughht China, that is far enough though the wages are lower.

Yes, but that is because we are all kind, generous, caring and warm-hearted and we are always willing to do something to help out those less fortunate than we are .
