Yeah, I'm sure my Korean spelling is really bad, but did anyone know she had a single coming out? I certainly didn't. Well until I popped up Dohhhup! just a minute ago to check for new releases like I always do. You can see the video here.
The single will be released on April 7th in both CD and cassette version. (Seriously old folks who still listen to enka on cassette, just buy a damn cd player already)
It's considered the second in her Korean-style singles. Just like "Kenchana" it's a very sad and emotional song with a video that involves her walking through a park and drinking away her sorrows in a bar. It's very beautiful though and really makes you want to hum along with its melody.
I love Yukidon and can't wait to see her as a guest at Sunday's Last Melon Greeting.

They're releasing it on cassette??!! Awesome! That's the edition I want! I still have--and use--my Walkman.
BTW, I loved Yuki's album and reviewed it in a couple of places.

Excellent, that girl has a great voice and knows how to sell a song, I'm ordering a copy.
Edit - Damn, just ordered a copy from CD Japan and noticed they had a number of her old singles going cheap(ish) and her album, I've now spent a LOT more than I intended, oh well <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hatthe.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.

What. The. Fuck. My 88 year old mother figured out how to use a CD player 20 years ago. Who the fuck is still using cassette players? They would have probably done better to release it on 8-track, as there is at least an underground 8-track cassette movement. But cassettes? They're obsolete and passe. What a waste of money.

Does anyone die in the video?

There is a little sacrificial slaughter towards the end but I don't think it in any way detracts from the beauty of the piece.

Ah, once again, something I would be ordering if I wasn't flat broke right now.
Still, had to make a comment on the cassette thing. Haven't people learned their lesson after having countless cassettes ruined by their walkmans or younger siblings/relatives pulling all the tape out? Haven't people got sick of having to rewind it before replaying? Oh, Japan. You never fail to make me giggle.

From what I can tell, pretty much all enka still has cassette releases.

What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?

Oh, I like! I mean I prefer Ai Ai Daiko, but mainly for the "Don doko don don" line XD.
Still really great. XD Cassette.
If I had a job right now I'd buy this.
