More than likely, yes.
If so, SOMEONE SHARE A HOTEL ROOM WITH ME!
This is the problem I've got right now, trying to figure out who to room with to cut costs, since barely anyone from here is actually going <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> We should be working out some of the fine details fairly soon, and again those of us who are going should use the thread that's stickied here for keeping up with those things.
If AKB fans are ANYTHING like Morning Musume fans you'll need to crash in early if you want to get into any of the events. But I think that also depends on who they have going to the event.
I've been thinking about this myself and wondering if that many people will really come out for AKB. AKB definitely doesn't have the recognition in the US that MM does, and I'm not sure if AKB fans from Japan would trek all the way over here to see this, when, from my understanding, they do these kinds of events constantly in Japan an they've also already made numerous appearances in Europe and the US, so this isn't a once-in-a-lifetime thing like MM was.

Hm really? I did not know this. I always thought AKB was supremely popular here among the newer generations of fans -- compared to mm, which was popular like 10 years ago. Also, I feel like AKB really fits the otaku crowd sensibilities more than mm.
I'm sad that Mano is being completely out-shone by AKB. However, a part of me has a giggly hope that the crowds will get deflected away to my benefit haha.

Re: Mano in America in July?
To paraphrase my press contact at AX, don't get your hopes up, because Mano hasn't been confirmed yet. (Read into that what you wish.) We won't know for sure until we see an official announcement declaring Mano an Industry Guest. No announcement, no Mano.
So I'd hold off on making those plane reservations just yet if Mano was the draw for you.

Yeah I wonder what negotiations are being processed. It seems unprofessional (and pretty cruel considering how happy she was) to announce her appearance when it isn't even confirmed!
I live in California and go every year, so it isn't an issue for me.
At this point, screw Mano for the most part. AKB48 was just announced as an official guest of honor and will be performing live as well as having panels and meet-and-greet sessions. Holy fuck.

Great, I know I might come off a little mean but, I don't know weither to not go because their going to be there or to go just to call them no-talent chalmydia-ridden skanks in front of their faces and heckle.

Re: Mano in America in July?
Mano will star in a horror movie. Tokyograph thinks it will premiere at the Anime Expo.
Edit: Oricon reports on it as well. Apparently she'll will be singing the theme song to the move as well. It seems confirmed she'll be going to the expo as a guest, but it's not sure whether she'll sing or not.

Can't try doing it until July, cabrao. So right now, it is all talk.
I love Mano, but there is no way I would go now. I immensely dislike AKB48 save for like...two songs (plus a few by SKE48 -- same concept, except they're in Nagoya) and I refuse to support them.

I don't think personal attacks are the best way to go here considering your track record of posting largely unintelligible nonsense at this BBS. There's no reason to directly insult a BBS member (however dumb the "insult") just because she happened to say that she did not like a musical group that you like. Perhaps you're taking your own advice of "Why don't you try doing it" and instead of vaguely trolling, you're finally jumping in to the troll deep end? Thank god for that, your vague sentences brimming with ellipses were always so hard to read anyway.

What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?
LinLin: "I stop thinking and stare into nothingness."

You went under the radar so far, but looking at your history, you either straighten up, or your next post will be your last here. Also what Em-El said in much nicer words than I would.

They're not even good at trolling, so I wouldn't call it that.

The "Industry Guests" list on AX is left totally blank and just notes a sort of "TBA" but this link says she'll be there. No word on concert but I'll bet she'll give a panel for her film. Weeeeeee!
organizers at The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation had confirmed with ANN that Mano will be attending the convention as an industry guest.
