S/mileage - ○○ Ganbaranakutemo ee nende!

Post by Haru »

Was SCANDAL in their first week? I think so, but can't remember. If so, that's pretty good showing on S/mileage's part, beating an established, popular group.

S/mileage's 2nd Major single will be released on July 28th. It'll be an extra special single since it will be sung in Kansai-ben AND have another Japanese version.

Concert preview was recently leaked. There will be a radio preview later this week.

Image

Here's one cover, probably Regular. There will be 4 versions all together as well as a SingleV being released on August 4th.

Tracklist

1. ○○ Ganbaranakutemo ee nende!!

2.
○○ Ganbaranakutemo iin da yo!! (Japanese ver.)

3. Smile Bijin

4.
○○ Ganbaranakutemo ee nende!! (Instrumental)

So what do you think? Love it, hate it, aren't going to listen to the concert preview? (It's not bad... really...) I'm sure the studio version will be pretty awesome is this is their live version... (I hope!?).

I listened to it earlier and .. not really feeling it. It may just be because it's a concert rip and it's a brand new song, but I'm not really a fan of it yet.

First they stole Tanpopo, and now Mini Moni + 2004's Berryz

It's damn cute!

Hmm.. From this rip, I think I hear Takahashi Yuichi's signature beachy arrangement and goofy brass.

It's okay...but I don't love it...but then again, that's also how I felt when I first heard "Yume Miru 15" and now I love that song, so it will probably grow on me.

Better covers. Not sure which is which though. But I stand by the one I posted in the first thread as being the Regular Edition.

Looks like we'll get some more alternate reality with this cover. WTG S/mileage for thinking outside the box a little.

Also, a shot of what appears to be a performance. Canes and Mic Stands, it's so very Tanpopo, but Tanpopo never got canes, they would have been SO much cooler if they did though. ;D

Does Kanon have messed up teeth or something? Because she's the only one with a closed mouth smile.

No she doesn't from what I can tell, her top teeth are pretty normal, a little on the big side, but not wonky in any way, unlike a few of the other girls who are sporting fangs ala Tsuji. But I've yet to see her bottom teeth.

I think a closed mouth smile is her "thing" it's part of her character. I'm sure all idols have a "thing" they do as part of their character whether it be a smile, gesture whatever. D:

It's good. I liked Yume Miru 15sai better. At least I'll have something to buy along with Maki's mini album.

lol INORITE.

It's like...photobomb. Everyone's all snuggly and happy and she's all HOT DOG.

The regular is nice. I don't like this one, white cover is probably my favourite, and the brown one's not bad but the random S makes me nothapp.

This is...interesting. Very interesting.

That's the only thing I can say about it.

But it's a little better than Yumemiru.

I like it, more than Yume Miru 15. The intro kinda reminds me of MarioKart.

Not in love with it, but I like it.

This thread has a severe lack of the Hitler mustaches they sported for the jacket shoot as seen on last week's Bijo Gaku.

I wonder if they'll wear them in PV. I am also wondering if the Japanese even who Hitler is because on their old show Yorosen C-ute was talking about Hitler, and then in the next episode they had to apologize for it. I also saw someone use the nazi symbol as a decoration like hearts or stars. It seems like they never learned about world history...

Yeah. Plus, Japanese people LOVE fucked up teeth so it wouldn't even deter her. I agree- she's probably trying to come off as "cool."

I haven't listened to the song yet (waiting for a better version) but oh how I love their costumes! and the hot dog! Cutest new group ever.

Yeah, unless it's changed drastically in the last few years, Japanese textbooks pretty much reduce WWII to a sentence that says "Japan fought the US and lost." It's really said how ignorant the kids are about a great deal of world history in Japan. However, I've had some amazing talks with Japanese in their 60s-80s about their experiences living through the war. It's mind-blowing to hear something like "Losing WWII was the best thing that has happened to this country. We were reduced to eating rats and bugs until the US came and saved us from the government."

As for the Nazi thing, it's because they look cool.

And on TV shows the idols never seem to know where foreign countries are on a map... Well I'm not surprised about some Japanese considering white men of the east, because they have always looked down on China and Korea.

I'm not sure that you can necessarily rely on the intelligence of idols as a measure of the intelligence of the average Japanese person. Not to say that Japanese education isn't lacking in a few areas, but a lot of idols thrive off of being stupid as part of their persona.

As for this song, I'm liking it a lot more now that I've heard the radio preview, it's super cute. And every one of those covers is adorable. I just wish they'd give poor Kanon some weave. The short cut is just super awkward and unflattering. If she wanted short, there are much styles. Every so often they find a way to style her hair so that it looks kind of cute, but most of the time it's this weird, flat, boyish-in-a-not-cute-way....thing. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Of course. But it is a far reach to suggest that any iteration of the swatstika post-Auschwitz is fully free of Nazi references. To cite the swastika mindlessly is especially damning coming from Japan, a full militarist participant and ally of the Nazis during WWII and an imperialist power that fully embraced theories of racial superiority.

Anyway, I'd like to get back to the discussion at hand. CUTE GIRLS.

Just as Kago pretended to be a non-smoker and overall good little girl, I think we can easily consider an event on a TV appearance to be a work of fiction as well.

Nacchi, a kickass poet and avid SONY gamer. Maki, a yogurt enthusiast. You get the idea.

Anyway, I'm really liking the radio preview. Minus the pops and goofy sounds, the instrumental seems almost like it was played by a real band.

I don't know what you mean, just because Nacchi inadvertently mind-melded with some poets and entirely accidentally found her own works to have been influenced by them.

This is of course simplified, but in general Kansai-ben uses "nen/ya nen" in place of "desu/da yo." So for example, the standard dialect translation of this song (the c/w) is "Ganbaranakutemo iin da yo!" ee = ii, nende = da yo. Another common example - "Suki da yo/Suki desu/etc" would be "Suki ya nen/Suki ya de."
