That can be really cute. Cameron Diaz dancing in her underwear for the intro to one of those Angels movies was the only moment I have ever found her cute.

Re: AKB48!
The new single sounds like the AKBIdolling song they did a while back. I don't like it much.
I found this comparison of the crowd at morning musume's concert at the anime expo from last year (top pic) and AKB48's concert from this year (bottom pic) (also found videos). It looks like the Japanese media really did exaggerate on the numbers. The bottom pic doesn't look even close to 3000 people.
Also Ooshima Yuko is rumored to be dating Wentz. Or they're just friends. Whatever .

I'm sure they'd love to, but it's probably just a pun since it's pronounced AVK. I don't know if I ever hear "kei" like "series" though. Isn't it more like "style"?
Also, I don't expect AV producers to be experts at audio mixing, but that video is horrendous to listen to.

My copy of the AKB48 single-v collection arrived yesterday. Good stuff. I'm very happy that I no longer have to go to YouTube to see the videos I like, esp. "Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2008."

That photo only shows the middle section. There were five sections in the orchestra seating and each one was filled to about the first half of the rows. I didn't really count, but there COULD have been 2500-3000. There was at least 2500 I think. The MM concert was in a different location, was divided into only three sections, and the seating was deeper. For me anyway, it was hard to tell how the crowds stacked up because the shape of the seating was so different.

The seats to the left look empty to me in this pic. Did you go to the concert?
To be honest I don't care how many people went to the concert. AKB members themselves have said there were many empty seats and people sitting with their arms folded. Akimoto has already planned appearances in Italy and Singapore, etc. So he doesn't seem to be that bothered. What I don't like is that a japanese magazine reported that Morning Musume had only 1000 spectators last year so AKB48 did pretty well. When the truth is that Morning Musume was sold out with around 7000 people attending.

I'm listening to "Sakura no Hanabiratachi" now. Great song. I really enjoyed their Single-V collection which arrived recently. Some of those songs rattle around in my head for days.
What's the best website anyone can recommend that offers lyrics of their songs both in Japanese (romaji) and the English translations?
Thanks.

Re: AKB48!
The only database out there is Studio48. Also, the Lyrics thread at Stage48, and the threads for (recent) individual stages @ Nihongogo (well, OK, only K5 & K6 so far, cause I'm biased & management screwed up the lyrics for B5 when they posted them -- no romaji there cause Studio48 always gets that in pretty quickly). Between all of these links, you will find lyrics (or at least translations) for nearly every song AKB has ever released.

Re: AKB48!
Full PV. is out.
Can I just say, ugliest lipstick ever, who thought that would look good?
I think the only thing I liked were the uniforms with the multi-colored skirts and the group shot dance. So I liked the dance shot. I'll have a PV with just that and I wont feel dirty. I didn't care much for the song otherwise. But I think AKB48 could have released a single with all the girls reciting lines from a phonebook while dressed like they are in the PV and it would still probably chart #1 on Oricon so who am I kidding?

Actually the director of the PV is female. I think she was going for girly, sexy, fun, colourful and poppy. The covers remind me of the cover of this Hamasaki Ayumi album, which isn't aimed at male wotas either (though I'm sure they're having a field day with AKB's new PV) .

And Heavy Rotation is a sleazy PV. I was hoping all the pretty colors would make it pretty, but in the end, they toned it down too much. There was a lot of potential there at least... Too bad this time, the song isn't that catchy either.
BUT, there's still the Undergirl's PV which is really fun and retro! AND Moeno is in it!

Thanks.
I think they put on too much make-up, even if they were going for a varieté-look. They're especially heavy on the... lipstick for the eyes thing... whatever it's called.
Also, I think "heavy rotation" is a subliminal sexual term.
Thanks.
