Masae Ohtani from Melon Kinenbi has gone solo and released two digital singles.

The title says Otani Masae aka Himawari (Sunflower). She getting a new stage name?

Yeah, at the end of August she announced she was gonna change her name and even got suggestions from her blog readers. Then a week later she showed the CD jacket for the CD. And they sold the CD at some event in October that only 100 people went to. I'm not sure, she was doing quite a few lives around that time.

Masae Ohtnai, or Himawari if you will, has released another digital single called "ENDLESS LOVE".

Maybe this one is getting a physical release too?



It is nice to see at least one of the graduated Melon Kinenbi members still doing music!

I'm pretty sure "ENDLESS LOVE" was also a digital release. "killing my caddy" was August, "ENDLESS LOVE" was September-ish. But I never got around to getting ENDLESS LOVE, so I forgot about it until just now when I read your previous post. I don't think I've heard of this new one before though. Maybe it's the first real new one.

I think Ayumi might be sticking with music as well? She's under a new company. Megumi is still under UFA last I knew. Hitomi has, I believe, fallen off the face of the Earth since she married the comedian.

This is some wonderful news to return to! Masae is my all-time favorite Hello Project member/alum, so I'm absolutely gleeful at her doing more music work. And for the few who remember, yes, Rinne (from Country Musume) had been my favorite Hellopro member since either 1999 or 2000. She dethroned my favorite from the first few years of Hellopro, which had been Nacchi. But as much as I adore those other country gals, my fondness for Rinne had a lot to do with sentimentality and such. We never got to really know her all that well, sadly, in the few years she was around. This unlike Masae, who has given me countless reasons to adore her for over more than ten years now. Melon Kinenbi has long been my favorite thing about Hellopro, and Masae was always my favorite member. Allowing her to take a backseat to Rinne was a tad bit unfair.
