Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
To me, she's always stood out since Milky Way. For those who say she can't sing, I suggest you look up her 08 Live of Romantic Ukare Mode. She has a good voice and can sing live. I hope the PV is good!
Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
Soooo glad they are doing something with this girl. She's gorgeous and has a nice, strong voice. I just hope she gets some good songs.

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
I've always loved her >.< I was hopping she would be put in morning musume this time around, but now she is a soloist! that is amazing and I can't wait to hear her work in the future!
Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
I really only heard of her in MilkyWay, and that was a long while ago.But now listening to her I would think she will be a good soloist in the future.
Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
I am not too fond of the song (yet) either. I'll make up my mind if they release a better quality one.
What is interesting is that something is FINALLY happening in H!P again. Almost no markant changes the last years, and now we get two eggs finishing training and four new MM members. I am excited

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
Oh Lord, yes! There are not words for how excited I am over this! I'd been listening to my 2008 Hellopro singles these past few weeks, and it reminded me of how much I miss MilkyWay. This and, SanSan GOGO is one of my all-time favorite B-Sides (a very tough shell to crack. particularly for newer-era stuff.) I don't see how this is anything but good news, as Hellopro has only had one freakin' soloist for the past many years. And as much as I deeply adore Mano, she's no Gocchin, Ayaya, or Mikitty. It seems ages since we've had a dynamic soloist at the forefront, so this is just one more opportunity for that to happen. Until she spends more time being wrung through the idol machine, we can't know for sure whether she's capable of it. At the very least, having multiple soloists will be nice again. With the exception of Mano, take it as you will - Hellopro's front talent has basically just been composed of three groups, and nothing more, for quite some time now. Successful idol pop has always thrived on having sub-groups and soloists in the mix, and this includes the glory days of H!P

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
I heard her her perform today. She's got a lot of talent for someone just starting out a solo career, so this should lead to good things if handled properly. Her live performance was already quite good, so I could see the recording being something I could get into. She's got a nice little deep voice in the song, and there's even a cute little dance too, even if most of the song is in front of a stand-up microphone. And she's far prettier in real life than that terrible manly picture they're using on her promotional stuff.
There was a little cell-phone stand at the entrance of the venue. (The guy working it was the same guy who does all the Momoiro Clover cell phone things. I guess there's one company that specializes in cell-phone emitters or whatever. As a sad commentary on my lifestyle, he recognized me.)

And furthermore, Smileage is really starting to feel like a real H!P group now, so 4 groups plus 2 soloists makes for a robust project.

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
[/returns from lurking since OG graduation]
I signed up for her fansite as well, and apparently, you get emails from the site updating you on what Kikka's up to as far as her career goes!
I got an email this morning (they basically look like your run-of-the-mill idol blog entries, minus emoticon spam like Tsuji and others are so famous for) basically saying she has a sore throat and that Takahashi and some others are helping her to feel better (bringing her tea, etc), and that she's really excited that people cheered for her and she thinks the choreography is easy to remember, so she hopes people will imitate it.
I'm not great at translating, so I just gave you the gist of it, sorry. I can post the full message if anyone's interested.
But GAAAHHHH FANGIRL SQUEE I am so excited for H!P this year!!! This is the first time since TsujiKago's graduation from Momusu that I've been this excited for anything H!P has been doing! Admittedly, last year was pretty awesome, though I was feeling cautious and didn't want to get sucked back in for another mass graduation and disappointment, but like someone else had said in this thread, it finally feels like a big group again! I'm so excited for Kikka and the 9th gen!!!! I hope this year is as awesome as it looks like it's going to be!
I'm totally ready to become a Kikka-wota. Not even kidding. I'm so glad she's solo!!!

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
I'm not gonna make a habit of this, but the You-mail from last night was very amusing to me.
Everyone who came to the venue today, I'm sorry.
I didn't put on my best performance because I messed up the words.
The kind cheering from all the fans made me awfully happy, and I ended up crying a little...
Really, thank you so much.
Now I think this is a barrier that I must climb over.
Therefore, crybaby Kikka will graduate, and I want to become strong.
Everyone's support for me has become great strength.
Everyone, I may be this kind of Kikka, but tomorrow again please continue to support me.
Tomorrow certainly I will show my best performance!
This was Kikka!!

That's nice, now that Ayaya actually remembers the words to her songs it would be good to have somebody else to assume the mantle of Chief Fluffer*.
*That's "Fluffer" in a non-porno sense for all of those with minds in the gutter (I'm looking at you Ap and Al).

In the UK at least if somebody gets their words wrong on stage they will say "I fluffed my lines", if they forget them completely and just stand there looking blank then the technical term is "corpsing".
Yes, in my pre-teenage days my father "encouraged" me to take part in amateur dramatics, what a loss to the world of drama it was when I hit puberty (and lost).

These links make me really look forward to Yuu as a soloist now. I hadn't really paid much attention to her in Milky Way though I tended to notice her more than the other girls during lives. I'm happy she decided to develop her voice in a lower direction than the typical higher idol tone or whatever she had going in her Milky Way days.
I registered at her site, so I want to see this much talent done RIGHT. I'm lookin' at you, Tsunku.
Since I looove deeper voices and didn't really give two shits about any of the other H!P soloists ever, I'm anticipating great things from Yuu and I really hope UFA delivers.

Wait, what? Unless we're talking about the past five years, sure. The three former lead soloists were relegated to backburner, and the former backburner ones stopped existing for the most part. And once Elder Club graduated, all we've had is one soloist. But in its glory days, the soloists were possibly the best thing about Hellopro. After Melon Kinenbi, of course.

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
After today's afternoon show, You sent out a blog-mail that had the title "Candy" with a picture of her holding candy. She said there would be something different for the evening show.
Just now, she explained that she performed a new song, "Candy PoP".
She called it a super upper song, but I presume we'll get a concert recording at some point. They did well giving her both kinds. I, at least, want to hear an exciting song. She also had a different outfit as well. It's black instead of white. (It seems to be what she's wearing in the promo pic they've been using. With added bow. Not as good looking as the previous white dress for "Sayonara Namida".)

I hope she debuts with these two songs as a double A-side!!
Woah I am just realizing that Yuu's voice got way deeper!
But people tend to sound deeper in concerts, plus she doesn't have to do the KiraRevo voice anymore.

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
Yeah, her voice was already deep for her first song, and this song accents it way more. I had to hear the other one live to fully appreciate it, I have hope that this song will be good in studio form. She puts power into it, and if it's produced right it'll be good.

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
I already loved her in Milky Way (though I can't stand Koharu) and wow.
The second song is really better than the first one!
She got more power on this one, so it's really good! (even if it's a preview!..)
Double A-Side?
Is this some trick UFA? XD

So happy right now!! I remember when MilkyWay started and I looked up EVERYTHING I could on Yuuchan, I adored her so much. Now to see her talents are finally going to be put to use! I bought Mano's first two CDs because I felt obliged to support the newest soloist, but I've only ever really liked Haru no Arashi. But with Yuu, I can see me buying every single whether I have the money to at the time or not.

They could probably be considered relatively deeper compared to other H!P singers or idol singers in general, yes. Meh. The only soloists I know of are Matsuura, Mano, Maki, and Abe as the ones off the top of my head, and none of them ever jumped out to me as soloists. I also don't really dig any of their voices for solo careers, but that's just me. It's not a hate relationship as much as a just not caring one way or another one. So I'm hoping Kikkawa keeps up good releases to keep me interested. She doesn't need to be emo-Kikka to keep me interested, but something different than synth pop/dance pop would be nice so as to not waste a perfectly fine voice that could be much more versatile.
But that could also just be me expecting more of H!P than I should.

But that could also just be me expecting more of H!P than I should.

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
Mano, Matsuura, Aya, Heike (who I am so in love with right now), Nakazawa, Gaki, Mikitty, Iida and Maeda Yuki.
Tell me I don't have the PH site memorized.
I'll have to listen later. I am so in love with girls with deep voices as of late. I think that's why I have the hots for Yurina.

Check this.. She has the best voice of any of the HP soloists with the possible exception of Yuki Maeda.
Her four albums are excellent, she sings in French, Greek and Italian and illustrates the covers with her own paintings, a talented woman .

Re: Kikkawa Yuu goes Solo!
She performed yet another new song starting at the evening concert today, "Yozora Hanabi" or "Night Fireworks" Upbeat, but a very melancholy feel in the lyrics. Fun to sing and dance along to. And boy is the girl gorgeous in person. (And rather close, I was 3rd (5th cuz they had the Row Zero section set up) row back)
