...I'm beginning to understand why people hate the H!O forums now. I've only been on there since right before 9th gen was announced, but I'm starting to not like it already. Someone called Sakitty "DROP DEAD UGLY", and Dawa's vocals disgusting. (Another said she was the best singer in all of S/mileage <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /lmfao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' /> and that Saki was the worst singer they had ever heard. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' /> ) I have heard singing waaaay worse than Dawa......Just the words they chose and the way they say it is.....I mean, I understand people have their personal opinions, but (about Saki) that's a little much. And some people bite your head off if you go against them, and are always starting fights! There are good people there too but....Oh gosh I could just go on and on.

Morning Musume

Takahashi was awesome as usual.

Gaki was awesome. I loved it.

Sayu picked a damn good choice of song to sing (if she was the one who did). Should be pretty good despite her lack of singing.

Reina was a disappointment. Didn't Tsunku sing this song? I didn't mind some parts, but I wish she picked a different song that would sound better with her voice.

Aika's birthday is this month <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> Cute choice. She's gotten better performing by herself too.



Berryz

Captain I wished picked a different song, but for the most part, she was way less pitchy overall than she normally is (She reminded me of Erika in this song...).

Momoko's was amusing to listen to.

Maasa needed a different song too. I think she was the weakest link in Berryz.

Chinami's song was perfect for her (I wonder why people don't like her more sometimes).

Miyabi was awesome.

Yurina was a lot better than I thought she would be on that song.

Risako has sung this song before I though? She did really well too. Pleasantly surprised.



C-ute

Maimi was all over the place.

Saki did well on the chorus, but the verses not so much.

Airi sounded sick to me <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> Love the song, still.

Chisato was spot on for some of those notes (which I was surprised at).

I expected Maimai to be better than she was...



S/mileage

Dawa's was adorable. I'm loving how all these not-so-good singers are picking songs that are more crowd pleasers/easy to get into to sing.

Yuuka has sang this before.

Kanon was not quite as strong as I was expected, but still good.

Saki was good. I'm not a fan of the song, though.

Oh wow, very nice! This song has very sentimental meaning to me, and back when it was released it was the catalyst to my becoming a H!P diehard. Whereas during the first few MM single releases, I was more of a passive fan (and didn't know if the group would amount to anything long-term.) Nacchi's performance in this song also helped make her my initial favorite MM member. Memory was my favorite MM single for many years, and the only one that finally topped it for me was Mr. Moonlight. I love hearing Airi sing it, as she's been dear to my heart ever since she debuted. The fact that I liked her from the first note she sang, even back when the H!P Kids were still obnoxious kids, means you know she's good. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

Nothing wrong with that. Okai is probably my favorite current member of H!P. She has one hell of a voice, to boot, and she doesn't get to utilize it often enough in their recorded songs. She does tend to get some love at concerts, just not in this particular case. I always call her one of my country gals, forgetting that she was born in Saitama. I find it horrible to release an album and not perform the majority of the songs within the tours surrounding the release. I don't imagine they'll have a regular tour that collectively features these songs. 3 members are gone and the new girls probably won't sing them anytime soon. They'll be sprinkled around like we're seeing with I'm Lucky girl & BRAVO.

I am going to bump this thread because it's still cool to talk about your H!P experiences, right?



I sat in the family seat on the left side of the stage, which was a pretty good view. I sat next to two girl fans who were sisters who were casual fans. I swear the older sister was crying a bit at Takahashi's grad announcement because she said she loves Takahashi. But, their perspective on girl fans and what the (casual) girl fans think of the wota (they called them otaku) was pretty intresting. Speaking of wota, I felt like this concert was full of wota as they were also in the family seat area and stood up even in that area. But, after the concert, one was pretty nice as he gave me some Takahashi and Niigaki photos as he was very surprised to see a foreigner at a H!P concert (do they still not know that H!P groups has been to the US and Europe). Anyways, some of my thoughts on the A-2 song list



It was kind of odd that Kikkawa did her opening act at like 6:15 than at the start time because it left a 10 minute gap between performances. But, I can't wait until Kikkawa goes solo because she is amazing and has some potential if she plays her card right.



WOW WOW WOW: Although they stuck to the original color scheme, I was sad to see Yossi not performing. I know Yossi was MCing but Pucchimoni was part of her Musume career and it showed in the camera shots that she was still into the song.



365 Step March: I was so happy to see Yossi dancing and joining in the performance. I don't know, I can't see Yossi just not performing and MCing that whole concert while not performing.



Destiny Love: This was actually cool with them all in suits. Although, I wish Takahashi had a gloved hand because she had that Jackson vibe in her performance.



Gatamekira and Marui Tayou - Very happy to see Taiyo and Ciscomoon songs being sung still. But, wtf, Gatamekira for Minimoni? I love the song but it's not Minimoni....



Shining Itoshiki Anata: Very nice performance with a great lineup. This performance made me remember why I like this song (and that Miyabi sang quite well in English).



Guruguru JUMP: Still sad that Junjun graduated....



I really like the new songs. C-ute's song is my current favorite as it sounds like high speed Beethoven on acid and Mano's and S/mileage's new songs weren't that bad either. Though, I wish that Berryz's new song was more rock sounding then pop. Where is that Rock Musume Remix Project when you need them.



Anyways, great concert. Can't wait to see it on DVD someday.

I had some questions:





Why are there so few Eggs?

I counted eleven in the first concert and ten in the second. And that’s including Mizuki, who’s now an MM member (but does full Egg duties in both concerts). The end credits list nine Eggs in the first concert and eight in the second. The only Eggs I recognized were Mizuki and Akari Saho. What happened to all the others? Y’know, like the ones I keep complaining aren’t used enough in every other H!P concert from the Summer of 2007 on.





Who the heck is the Egg singled out by Yossi in her end shout-outs?

It sounds like she’s calling her “Lion-chan.” And she’s not listed in the end credits. Yet she’s clearly an Egg.

Why didn’t they replace the missing members in the special units?

Tanpopo#, Shin Minimoni, and Zoku v-u-den, are all missing members now that Eri, LinLin, and JunJun have all graduated. So those units, who all perform in the A Concert, now are down to three, three and two members, respectively. Couldn’t they just have moved someone else in? Which is what they used to do all the time.



Why is Kanon Suzuki absent from the first concert?



Why were the best numbers saved for the extras on the Blu-ray?



I’m sorry, but there are no decent songs in either of the concerts proper. The only good ones are in the extras, which are only available on the Blu-ray. And they’re some pretty damned good ones, too, such as Miyabi singing “Ai no Sono ~Touch My Heart~” and Saki Ogawa singing “Very Beauty.”



I had mixed-to-negative feelings about these two concerts and about the experience of watching this on Blu-ray. I’ll do a full report on my blog this week.

This is a big mystery that's been talked about before in other parts of the Chat. A bunch of eggs disappeared from the roster without any mention from UFA. They either quit, got fired, or they were given the chance to continue to be an egg or leave. Your guess is as good as anyone elses.

Why didn’t they replace the missing members in the special units?

Saving the spots for the 9th gen Musume for the next H!P concert? I don't know. :D

Why is Kanon Suzuki absent from the first concert?

She was sick that day they filmed. That was the day Takahashi announced her Graduation I believe.

Why were the best numbers saved for the extras on the Blu-ray?

They had to give you some incentive to buying the blu-ray, especially if you had already bought the DVD. Or else what's the point of buying the blu-ray?

Because most of them graduated (Kikka, and the UFG girls), or they left eggs, and there haven't been any new auditions to fill those spots.

Thats Jung Dayeon. She's the winner of the H!P Korea auditions. She just became and egg during that concert.

Probably because all the members are in different groups already, and they didn't feel the need to replace them as it's just a concert shuffle.

Well, they just happened to choose B-2 for the DVD release. It's not like they actually went through and decided on each individual performance. Someone decided it would be B-2 for the DVD.



As for the eggs, I'm pretty sure they mentioned it. Not as a huge press release, but haven't they basically told us what happened to each girl? This girl is leaving, that girl is leaving, etc. I'm sure I heard sometime last year that the eggs were being thinned out.



And, yeah, this was answered sufficiently already, but who did you possibly think they'd replace the shuffle girls with? Everyone else is already in a group, and it's not like anyone new has joined except the 9th gen, and they weren't really members at these concerts yet.
