For some reason people are really disappointed. I'm not sure why. This is not only fairly standard for jpop (group shot + closeups) but it's also standard for SNSD as well. Why all the fuss?

Yeah, but even those were the basic formula. Just with more inspired backgrounds.

I think most of their fans are confused, expecting the dance version to be something different than the original, not being aware that the dance version is always just ripped from the regular thing. Maybe people thought Universal would try to do a little more than SM does (I swear they give SNSD the worst MVs and you figure they'd get the best ones being the moneymakers).



But I can say this is the first time I've liked Tiffany without her bangs, so that's a plus. That black is really working for her.

Well, Mr. Taxi's officially a pretty safe song all in all, which is probably the best decision for an attempted Japanese break-through.



And I think fan disapproval stems from the fact that the full version is just close-ups of the girls.

Listening to the song for a few times now I wonder why they made no part where this part of the refrain is without the background music and just a heavy bass.

It'd sound absolutely great.

I could have handled the same-ness of it all if it had been interesting to listen to. SNSD never have good non-single tracks. I think the producers realize no one cares because it's SNSD. There's also way too much Jessica. Others may like her voice but I can't stand it. 5 of the songs have already been released. Can't believe they didn't remake something like ITNW as well, since it's basically the only SNSD song that everyone can agree was really good.



Kind of curious as to what a fluent person thinks of their pronunciation though, since they get a lot of hate for it. Honestly if I listened to Japanese Hoot without knowing it was Japanese, I would never be able to guess what language it was in.



One thing I have noticed is that their songs seem to have more and more English as time goes by. Mr. Taxi was just flooded with it and so is this album.

I really like Stick With You (I refuse to type it the official way), Boyfriend and some other song who's name I don't remember. I don't think all of their non-single songs are garbage.

The previews had me thinking everything was pleasant but dull, and I'm expecting Mr. Taxi to be the most interesting track on the album. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lesson.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lesson:' /> It feels like all the Korean crossover acts really suck right now and all have boring songs, but if any of the acts have anything going for them, I'd expect it to be SNSD. So far, it feels like it'll end up like Lady Gaga's Born This Way album in that no song really sucks, but likewise no song is amazing.
