I think its more of a joke about Riho having history of dancing and Ayumi being recognized as dancer on the same level than it actually implying a dance battle.

This got lost. Looks like another interesting dance. From what they showed, a little slow, not sure if I like that bit. But I don't HATE the outfits. They look rather nice.

Oh, Kiiro 5's song, that makes more sense, actually, I think they were the only group in H!P to do all yellow and not make it look absolutely horrible. It might have helped that it wasn't 100% yellow and there were only 5.



I think I'll like the other song, it at least sounds "new"

I don't hate this song, but I don't love it either. Brainstorming grabbed me right away, Kimi Sae will probably be the type to grow on me. I actually really did like the intro, but by the time it got to the chorus I was less excited.



I don't hate yellow, but I'm not a fan of these outfits. I think it's the fact that flapper dresses don't fit the style of the song at all and they clash with the black "rock" accessories. The whole PV looks cheap in comparison to Brainstorming, like it was done as an afterthought. Not that the loose shot for Brainstorming was like super amazing high budget or anything, but the outfits and camera work seemed more sharp. They weren't half washed out by backlights. I do really like the dance though.



Plus Mizuki doing a bunch of harmony and Ayumi getting a big solo, hay gurl. You're improving! I hope this trend of giving more people lines continues and after Reina's gone Eripon/Zukki/Haruka get more than two words each.



Edit: Oh yeah, b-sides. I'm sad the rumors were false... sort of. These groupings are interesting too, and it sounds like Reina will hopefully getting a solo that transitions well into her new rocker style. Do we know which version is which though?

I kind of really hate this wow. I hate the song, the dance is okay. Why is Ayumi getting solos? Why are Haruka and Kanon not getting solos? Those outfits are hideous.

Brainstorm was just so good and then this happened.

I actually really like this one. I'm sort of bummed about the b-sides because I liked some of the pairings, but since they weren't real I'll have to deal with it.

I like the out fits, but they look kind of weird from the back. Also, I know the hat is becoming Haruka's 'thing', but it looks really out of place here.

Song doesn't grab me at all. It has a bit of an under-produced quality -- it never seems to take off. Also disappointed that Tsunku went the electropop route again -- I was hoping for a song with a very different sound.



Agree that the costumes look terrible. Military-style costumes would have been better, given the nature of the dance.



At this point, I REALLY hope Brainstorming is the main A-side.

That was an amazing opening worthy of the #1 track on their next album. It was like the next coming of electroconvulsive therapy! 2000 people on the dance floor? What? And then they started to sing and the whole tempo was thrown out of the room, down the street, run over by a train and left into a gutter to die a slow death. I am disappointment!



As for the video.



When it came to Brainstorm, that was the loose version. It wasn't stated to be a dance short or anything other then, some weird new term thrown around the UF board meetings.



This is a dance shot and all that.



If they don't have a sky shot of the Kimi dance in the actual MV I will be so disappointed. I want to see that rotation in full!



As much as I loath the color yellow, I can't help but like the dresses. I'm weird, I know. It's not something new. They could be wearing a dress made of rainbow condoms again. Just think about that.

The dance for "Kimi Sae" is pretty awesome, and the beginning is too. But it gets lost after the opening.

This dance didn't look to hard so I thought I'd work it into my exercise routine. (Yeah, I do H!P dances for exercise because I'm too unmotivated to do anything else.) But damn, its harder than it looks. Its a pretty fun dance to do though.

I almost really like this song but then the chorus is soooooo disappointing. It has this quirky fun buildup to absolutely nothing.

It seems people are trying REALLY hard to like this song. Why would you try so hard to like a song? This song is honestly more listenable and less infuriating and grating than Barnstorming, but is so under-produced, uncohesive, and boring that I just can't understand what there is to like here. The verse melodies sound morose and splenetic, there's nothing interesting about them. The chorus is as run-of-the-mill as you can get for a typical dance track, and the melody does nothing interesting, there's no climax to the tiny tiny bit of build-up they have before it. The mixing for all parts of the song do it NO favors, its very amateur and doesn't highlight any particular element of the song, yet it isn't minimal or ambient music. I really don't get what they were going for, if they even knew themselves.

I'm not trying to like it, I just like it. It sounds perfectly fine, and perfectly typical of a current H!P song, in my ears. Its not good and its not bad; it just is what it is. I've learned to accept songs like this for what they are; okay sounding dance tracks. Once you realize that MoMusu isn't what it used to be and accept that, then you can just accept what they put out for what it is and be okay with it. Of course, I'm generally never wowed or disappointed by anything from them anymore (except for my biased members) so its pretty easy for me to listen to this and just be okay with it. My point is (and I don't mean to insult or offend anyone) just lower your expectations and everything will be fine.

Lowering your expectations to enjoy something from a group just because you liked them before is exactly that: trying to like it. I refuse to lower my standards for anything. If it doesn't fit my interests or appeal to me, I move on to something else that does interest me. People seem to feel this strong obligation to try really hard to like anything that a certain group releases, especially with idols, and I just can't be on board with that. I call a spade a spade. Even if its from my favorite groups of all time that I've typically loved everything they released, if it sucks, it sucks. I move on and wait for next time.
