To each their own, I guess. I've sunk 60 hours into Dragon Age already and still ready for more. I imagine it'll keep me busy until Left 4 Dead 2 next week.

As for Bayonetta, I imagine I'll get it, but what exactly sets it apart from the DMC games other than a different main character?

Pretty much everything. The entire feel of the game is different, the move sets and weapons are very different, the scale of the enemies you fight are different and that makes the way you have to fight at times very different, the action is much more non-stop, more fast-paced in a general sense, more abilities, the entire game is tongue-in-cheek and full of humor and is way more over the top than DMC ever was. The only thing that really ties Bayonetta to DMC is the art and architecture style, and there are a few joke references to the DMC series in it. I can't say much more that would further the explanation anymore, but to assume it is just a clone of DMC is dead wrong.

Download the demo and you will know! It feels more like Viewtiful Joe than DMC to me, which is a good thing.

This is very true. It looks like DMC on a much bigger scale but plays a lot like VJ with a lot of major upgrades and improvements.

I never even thought about VJ, but I guess that is a bit true, with the way the combos work and the witch time and stuff...

I'm not one to fan the flames (what? yes i am), and to be fair I couldn't care less about MW2 if it murdered my family, but this image did amuse me:

How is Prototype? I see it on your recent games list. I've heard very mixed things about it, but am still kind of interested.

Yeah, it's pretty solid. Graphically it's pretty shoddy, the story is comicbook level at best (coming from me, that's a bad thing), but it's very entertaining for the most part. Also, if you like messing around randomly in sandbox games, it's one of the better ones out there for that.

If you'd excuse me, I'm back to playing some CoD 4 MP with a ping of around 30 to 40 to a dedicated server.

The single player is extremely well made, I just finished it last night. I don't give a flying shit about multiplayer, especially in the Call of Duty games (3 was glitched, 4 sucked, even though 5 had an awesome zombie mode...) so the game is fine in my book, but its not one of the greatest games ever like the hype builds it up to be.

I honestly can't believe people who want to play that game multiplayer on the PC actually bought it. Like, I literally can't believe one person bought it on PC and tried to play multiplayer, that is insane to me. Basically, if you bought the game on PC, you deserve to eat the shit IW shovels down your throat.

Already a crack has appeared to create a dedicated server, although for now, the ability to actually join that dedicated server isn't there yet. Still, it gives an indication of what people who bought the game would be missing out on (although of course there's nothing stopping them from cracking their games despite it being a legal version--after all, it increases the amount of features enormously).

Then you bought CoD for the completely opposite reason than, I'd say, 80% (probably even more) of the CoD players do.

I did play the singleplayer campaign (a friend of mine lend me his steam account [offline mode enabled]) and I was underwhelmed. CoD 4 had so much more highlights and the pacing in MW2 was really bad. I basically only liked the third act and the ice climbing, which was pretty damn well done.

I was going to write something bad here, but I deleted it again. =/

Anyway, 6 hours is totally not worth the money. (it took me 6:28 to finish the SP on Hardened, but that's also including pauses and time in the menu)

That's the main reason why the multiplayer is so important ESPECIALLY with Call of Duty games. (I'm only talking about the infinity ward ones, not the abominations treyarch made)

@///; I fully agree. It's still sad to see though, apparently it sold 840.00 copies on the PC on it's first day.

I don't care that it wasn't long, that's why I didn't buy it, it was worth the $8 I paid to rent it. The story is extremely immersive in th environments they created and the story they built around it and that is a huge technical achievement as far as I'm concerned. It is a lot more relevant and striking to Americans than it would be to people from other countries because so much of it takes place on American soil which shows many places we consider to be safe and secure places being completely overrun by Russian military and the entire country being in utter chaos on the throes of possible nuclear war. Certain scenes actually disturbed me to an extent that I felt kinda depressed because it was using imagery that I'm fairly familiar with, living in suburban America and is so immersive that it really plants the idea of how terrible it would be to have a war on your own soil, in any country. It made me feel like "yeah, this probably could happen" or "what if this happened tomorrow?" Americans especially don't have much of a concept to drive this home in a relevant way because we haven't had a war on our land since the 1700s. If a game can make me feel that strongly on an issue, these people did a fucking fantastic job on making an immersive and cerebral experience, which I greatly enjoy. That's my piece.

TRU had the last remnant for five bucks awhile back, but it was one of those buys I never played until now. The main character is such a douche. JRPG heroes annoy me, but he is hands down the worst I've encountered. Example:

General: Lord David (prounced Dah-veed) our troops require more assistance.

Main Character: Heya Dave, I'm your man! Let's kick some A!

My only solace is the other characters comment on his stupidity. It's like Loyd from Tales of Symphonia. The other characters calling him an idiot saved the game from being tossed out the window. For now I've learned to just laugh and enjoy when he dies in battle because his body contorts into something that would make the Cirque contortionists proud.

That aside, the battle system is really fun. I'm probably grinding more than what I need, but I'm having fun doing it so it doesn't matter.

RPG protagonists always seem to be annoying. They either have no personality (silent) or are douches like Rush. Yuri from Tales of Vesperia was one of the few likable main characters I can think of.

The heroes from Gothic 1-3 & Risen are awesome. Probably the coolest guys in RPGland.

I'm not sure what you mean. Yes, the actual walking is a bit plodding since they wanted the character to have some "weight" and I had to jack up the aim sensitivity, but all the other controls are standard FPS fare that's instinctive to me by now. The level design is completely linear since it uses locked doors to limit where you can go, but nothing I'd call bad.

Yeah I saw the console hack, it was great. proper FOV here I come! Also, there is now a hack out that will allow you to play on Steam servers (though for safety sake it is smart to make a new account and probably get some IP hide thing or something). I don't really care about multiplayer so I don't mind, but it's pretty cool anyway.

(actually I don't even care about MW2 at all, I just enjoy it when game companies show themselves to be incompetent clusterfucks of fail. Especially on the PC!)
