On first glance make seemed stand-offish and she definitely wasn't buddy buddy with the rest of the group (other than Yossie, but Yossie got around), but she was an absolute sweetheart. MORE IMPORTANTLY Maki really brought the group together performance-wise. From what I've seen, DM seems more about the concerts and less about variety shows, so Maki's presence will be sorely missed since they'll probably be singing lots of songs from that era.

Yeah, "aloof" is the word. If I ever noticed it myself, I always assumed it was because she was the only member of 3rd Gen and then they launched her solo career so quickly, she always seemed apart from the others anyway. She's also one of the few in H!P who set out to be a star. She and Aya.

I like Rainbow 7 quite a bit. 6 and 8 blow, just like Koharu.



I think it'll be easier to look past her in DM since she'll be amongst a group of individuals who all have strong personalities and larger fan bases, unlike MM when she was member. She's an idiot, but she's probably smart enough to know that she's an idiot, and she won't want to magnify that fact by trying to hang with the pros who made MM what it was when it was good. I have a feeling that she will very comfortably fade into the background of DM.

Talent-wise I'd say they're about equal, but Maki has always had that natural star vibe about her, whereas Ai is more like girl-next-door, if you were to ask me.

I think the new song has the group singing & general tone of Seishun Collection, but improved with instrumental elements of I LOVE YOU no Tsuzuki + Shiori Tokyo <--Hi Em-El, I kept that typo in for you.

Honestly, this song gives me 0% classic Morning Musume nostalgia, but I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing considering that the rest of the album will cover that with beloved(done to death)golden era songs. It's kind of XMAS-like.

Miki and Yuko arethe only big surprises here (and of course Koharu). Yuko was totes there for SNT (especially when 2nd gen was still more of backup), but RR21 is more of her song. Or Happy Summer Wedding. That's be the perfect call-out to older fans. Miki doing HSW isn't very exciting either.

- What the fuck ever~~ I guess she got it because it has the least challenging vocals~ I dunno why they'd give her such a classic song though. This is one of my all time favorite Classic Momusu songs and I bet it's the one track that doesn't make it to my MP3 player because it's about to get dueced on.

AWESOME. This is gonna be a sexy track. She's gonna totally bring it. ♥

Koharu- Renai Revolution 21 - Meh, like Usako said it's one of the songs with the easiest vocals. None of the songs on the album are from Koharu OR Miki's era, so both of them are going to end up seeming mismatched no matter where you put them.



Kaori - Daite HOLD ON ME! - Nice! Probably the only thing on this disc I might give a shit about. Obviously this is Kaori's song - "Ne waratte!?!?!"



Kei - Love Machine - I guess this is a good choice for her, but it's just not a song that will sound right as a solo. At this point, I'm Love Machine-d out anyway.



Makoto - Souda! We're ALIVE - The only 5th gen era song, so this was an obvious choice. Again, another song I can't see as a solo. Here's hoping for a cool remix.



Miki - Happy Summer Wedding - Probably chosen because she's the most recently married, and her image lately is all about being a cutesy housewife. I hope they use backup vocals for all the pala palas instead of making her squeek those out.



Abe - Memory Seishun no Hikari - Expected. I'm sure it'll sound nice, but she sang most of the original anyway and it had the benefit of lovely harmonies. I'll just listen to that.



Rika - The Peace! - Also expected. I don't need that much Rika, so again I'll stick with the original.



Hitomi - I WISH - RR21 would probably be a better choice for her, but it's not like Koharu could even attempt that Kago note at the end. I'm not a huge fan of Yossi's voice, so again...I have a much better lineup singing the original!



Mari - Koi no Dance Site - This will probably end up being fun and cute, but again weird as a solo song.



Yuko - Summer Night Town - I wonder how they will handle all the harmonies. Maybe one of the other girls will do backup? This is the only other song I'll probably end up keeping.



I guess I'm in the minority on this one in not being very excited about this. This is a bunch of girls that used to be in Morning Musume, not "classic Morning Musume." We're missing too many key members from each era for me to really feel nostalgic. And then you've got Koharu and Miki thrown in, and they represent a whole different era of the group. I'd rather see these girls do a whole bunch of new songs rather than a bunch of covers. The "old girls" singing the "new girls'" songs thing might be kind of neat, but more as a novelty than anything.



I guess the title of the group is a little off-putting for me too. Is anyone's "dream" morning Musume really this lineup? I imagine "Dream" Morning Musume for most people would not include Koharu, and would add in some girls we're just never going to get back together again. That's what makes it a dream. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> This is reality OG Musume, anyone who graduated or was kicked out, minus the ones that are pregnant, busy, or got kicked REALLY far out.
