Momoiro Clover is releasing their first album on 6/5:



Iriguchi no nai Deguchi (Warning: Beware of seizure)



Yup, "Momoiro Clover" not "Momoiro Clover Z." It's a collection of their indies songs in celebration of their 5th anniversary. The title means "An exit without an entrance."



First press comes in CD+Blu-ray or CD+DVD editions. If you preorder it at stores, you can get different stickers:

Yeah, those are stickers. I was fooled at first and thought you could get T-shirts :( BUT the most exciting part is I think it says it will include some songs that have never been released before on CD - so maybe we'll finally get an Orange Note with Akari? And some of the other songs they used to always do at concerts but never released? They say the tracklist will be out soon. Preorders start today, but I don't see it on CDJapan yet. I'm hoping it's not going to be limited to just those stores shown in the sticker photo.

Video of the encore from yesterday's 5th Dimension concert. They say it's the encore anyway, but it's an hour long. Not fully convinced its the current tour either. Seems to be at Seibu Dome since it said Peach for the Stars on the screen.

I really like the album, but their lack of singing talent is becoming really frustrating for me. It wasn't as big of a deal when they were just doing over-the-top ridiculousness, but their crappy voices just kill the more serious/epic stuff.

This was in my mailbox right when we were leaving for apartment hunting yesterday. So Ryan got to listen to it the first time with me! I love this album, the opening just was amazing (but I'm not spoiling for those who haven't gotten it yet)! I could have done with less slow and more upbeat songs that went with the rest of the theme of the album, but I LOVE literally every single on this album, and the others are great.



I AM pissed I got Lim A instead of Regular because my trading card was just a lame group shot in the ugly fencer outfits and the bonus CD is like all folk songs and half MC and blah.



Ryan told me that yesterday alone I talked about "The girl who's gone who was good at rapping" four times. Oops. I'm not bitter or anything.



Anyway, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, but I need to memorize the lyrics to NEO STARGATE especially so I can JAM OUT in my car.

I don't remember if we talked about it in this thread or not, but from January-February Momoka had to rest her voice because of some throat problem. I don't remember seeing what the specific diagnosis was, but my bet is that the way they sing is terribly damaging to vocal chords. I actually think most of the girls are decent singers, but similar to Riho they're often forced to sing beyond their range. They also put a lot of intensity into everything they do, which is good from an enthusiasm standpoint but unfortunately results in a lot of shout singing. I think if they're going to start doing more serious/epic stuff they really need some vocal training to help them sing properly. Otherwise we're going to end up with a whole group getting that node surgery @_@



That said, I don't have my album yet but somehow it was shipped as early as the 13th (which is crazy because Brainstorming was in that package) and it arrived at my mom's office yesterday <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> Of course she's out for two days so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. This is their first number one for a musical release, since I think some of their DVDs have gone to number one. So some idols tears will surely be shed.

I don't know, I've never thought they were any good at singing, and I've been listing to them from pretty much the beginning. It was never a big deal for me, though, since my enjoyment of the group was less centered around the music than it is for other groups, so I overlooked it. As their music becomes more important, though, their ability to keep up with the music becomes equally important to me. And yes, none of them have the range to pull off most of these songs, which is unfortunate, as these songs are mostly great.

I'm still trying to process how I feel about the album. Neo Stargate is by far my favorite song but for the rest I'm still ... hmmmm.

I enjoyed the album, but I echo the sentiments of vocal lessons and the like. Overall, it is still one of my favorite idol albums of all time.



Since I had ~1.5K points on cdj, already ordered the Blu-ray version of the album. HD Akari goodness, my gosh are these tears!?
