Maybe our recruit post is a bit too intimidating? ^^;; It seems kind of like they'd be willing to help but think they're not good enough at Japanese. I never checked out this person's translations, but if you guys think they're good I can write back and say we think they're good and would still like to use them if he/she doesn't mind.

The main thing I could surmise from what I know of the kanji's meaning and the content of the post, where she's accusing "Nakajima-san" of like a kind of betrayal (lol), is that it's kinda labeling Nakky as someone she confides in and shares things with, hence why she's upset at the secrecy here <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> Even if that's the case, I'm not sure how best to write it out...

Not sure how a developer would cost. Have to research and get an estimate. I think it would be a good investment if it saves everyone time and gets more translators though? Alright, I set it up for you. It prepares 5 posts at maximum for you every day at 3AM UTC+9. Let me know which time works better for you. Make sure to also delete posts you don't plan on translating.

Well now I know what pronoun to use. On one hand it seems like he's really intimidated by the group aspect of it, and we'd be fine with him just translating away on his own, but I do think it would be bad if we never knew when he was going to disappear and such. It's hard to say =/ I don't want to pester him.

We could do it still, it just would require some admin work still. At least their translations don't seem to have emoticons too much which means the only work that would needed to be done is linking and post date (and adding in the emoticons if we care) before it's posted.



I guess maiZe or whoever translates Takahashi at any moment could handle that so they can delete posts they want to translate themselves? I don't know if this lack of communication with us and the Takahashi translator would be a good idea though.

I think he's saying more like...if we want to look at his translations and use them as guidelines, we can. Like if there was a sentence we didn't know, we could check his translations to see how he translated it.



Even if he did agree, I also wouldn't feel right having his translations cross post by one of our members unless they had good communication with him. As it is, no one seems to have time anyway =/

I think emoticons should be done at each person's discretion. Luckily, no one I regularly translate uses emoticons to excess but, for the Buono ones....I want to do an approximation. It is such a huge waste of time and a burden on the server to upload individual, one-time-use emoji every third word. Sometimes I substitute a <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /heart.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> for an obscure heart drawing, for example.

We need as many extra cooks in the kitchen as possible, but I agree that with this kind of uncertainty this seems more troublesome than beneficial... I wouldn't mind if we posted straight copy-paste translations from that persons Tumbler if they were okay with it - after all we had a similar deal with Reina!Project, except they were doing the copying themselves. But, this is only under the condition that copying and other logistics would take significantly less time than translating from scratch. Otherwise, there's absolutely no benefit if Maize and Eri can't spend more time translating other blogs.



If it was up to me I'd ask and gently push them one more time to simply join B!P and do their best, but if they're still iffy then I'd forget all about it. But it's not up to me so make whatever you want out of my 3 cents above. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

Berry was doing the prepping for the last couple of days, but I'm taking back over now. And yeah, I'd often approximate the emoticons with the closest already available, and on rare occasions drop them altogether. It is a little odd at first but, it makes everything faster. My computer slows a bit when uploading photos and I always cut/paste the entire Japanese into WP and translate over it. So, this cuts out both steps.



Can this work with other people if we just go back and add in the emoji? It is REALLY convenient.



The only problem is, it copy and pasted 3 of Mano's older blog entries today. If it is auto-set to c/p up to 5 entries every night and Mano does not make anything new, it will copy the old ones. This can be confusing unless you remember and check the last entries you did.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm just worried about getting more translators because.. eri and Saya said something like they might not have time to translate in the fall(?). That's another reason why I'd like to get the plugin done because maybe they'd have a chance to translate still if everything was way more convenient.

About the emoji - no, we can't do that yet. Because it will automatically upload ALL the pictures including emoji. We don't want to have billions of copies of the same heart emoji on the server.



And sorry about it copying and pasting old entries. Let me know if it does it again. Because when I was testing it, I was only asking it to prepare 1 post and I changed it to 5 yesterday. Oh, I don't know 100%.



I can't really speak for Saya but both of us are going to Japan in the fall. Since I can't anticipate my everyday life and work load, I can't make any promises that's all. There might be multiple trips with interrupted internet access etc.



That being said, right now it takes me about 30 min to do Maeda, Wada, and Mano in one morning -- that includes little things like all the cutting/pasting -- and I do it over breakfast. It is very relaxing and its become a kind of necessary habit to read blogs as I drink my coffee. All 3 write pretty simply so it doesn't take long to do the real body so I'm not too worried. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, that's all.



Though, Buono takes me fucking forever because of the emoji. Takahashi isn't so bad when prepped, but she confuses me a lot <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> .
