I've been focusing on S/mileage's cause of the new member announcement. Thankfully they doesn't post every day though, and Captain hasn't posted at all for a couple days...



Still, maybe it'd help a little if C-ute's were prepped a bit ^^; I've never had that done before though, so I'd have to see what it's like. I could probably catch up with them tomorrow pretty easily if they were though - for some reason Gree pictures seem to take the longest to upload for me.

The lack of crediting and re-posting/re-translating our translations without permissions is starting to piss me off. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... wheely.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wheely:' /> Found a couple sites just in the last couple of days. Not trying to insinuate something here, but they're ALL French. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> Some of them were even hotlinking. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' /> So I changed the permissions. Hotlinking is not allowed on livejournal, tumblr, blogspot, wordpress, etc. But for custom domains, I have to add a permission. So if you notice any hotlinking, do report it to me. I had something similar happen with a locked livejournal community I run - someone was taking direct download links and hotlinking them on Italian forums. I don't know if there's a language (and cultural?) barrier when it comes to reading rules or respecting someone else's hard work, or if maybe they just assume that since their site isn't in English, we'll never find it? Either way, stealing translations without credit is something I really can't stand. Hopefully the block will help :)

As for foreign sites "stealing" the translations... It pisses me off to no end too, and yes, there are certain language/national/cultural patterns to it too... But there's only this much we can do, being an unoffical fan site ourselves - just think of it as a form of appreciation, reassure ourselves in our superiority, and make their lives as miserable as possible within our limited means. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' />

I'm not fussed about those other sites as in the end they are spreading the H!P world just as we are.... it would be nice if they credited the people who are working hard!!

It seems we don't really want advertising here, but since it's a site/store that supports H!P, I thought it could be an interesting way to promote both hellostore and maybe b!p (or MM-BBS I suppose XD I haven't browsed around the site enough to see if it would meet all their criteria). It'd be great to have as many ways as possible to get the word out about us, maybe even officially (though it seems we have quite the word already! I saw aine's little conversation with the Sayu translator from Hyakupa when it broke up the other day ^^;)



Anyway, it might be something you wouldn't be interested in doing, or maybe that we couldn't even do, but I thought I'd mention it at least. ^^

I think affiliate programs run differently from the way you are imagining them. It's not a co-op "you show off me, I show off you," it's a way of popular sites making money by referring traffic to sites like Hello Store when users buy things. Of course, Hello Store only returns money as Hello Store credit, so it's not like that money could be put towards hosting.

^ I pretty much figured that, but it's still promotion for a site that directly supports H!P (important for their continued existence, as well as if we want any chance of them performing abroad more often), and another way to get "noticed" by official connections... whatever point that might serve. Sorry I'm a bit behind on Sayu/Saki/Kikka, this weekend and today were unusually busy @_@



Speaking of Sayu, I saw mention that Hyakupa (or the one guy, rather) is translating her entries. I guess I was under the impression that they only sporadically updated her, but now that I look they update more often than me. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> I'm really reluctant to give her up just because I've grown attached, but with so many other blogs not being translated at all, some translators having a jillion blogs, and some translators possibly having to go on hiatus soon, I'm wondering if my time could be better spent on a different blog. What do you guys think? Is Hyakupa doing as good of or better of a job? Should I stick with it or move on to someone else? Honest opinions totally appreciated.

rob, I'd recommend Rika's blog. I can't really think of anyone else that is more than average popular, but doesn't blog a lot.

Unfortunately, she may blog a couple times a day, but they're all 1 sentence posts. And you can obviously skip the ones that say "Hey I got a show on at 23:00 tonight!" or "Hey it's a picture of me! BYE!" We might start getting JPHiP guys visiting us too. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Or you can work on Ogawa Saki, she seems to be a once a week girl. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> Even though TnB helps with her, I'm sure with 2 blogs already she'd be probably be happy to give her up.

Iida Kaori - Also daily, but seems to generally write short posts?



Maeda Yuki - Updates a few times a week.



Ohtani Masae - Almost-daily, but very short posts.



Yasuda Kei - Updates a few times a week.



Is anyone currently translating Kago's blog? If rob takes Saki, I'm contemplating picking her up. I'm going to study her posts a bit more to decide how much of a workload it is xD



On like...page one of this thread, I laid claim to Riho if she ever gets one. I'm guessing some of it has to do with the interest the girls have in blogging too. Eri never had her own solo blog, and my guess is that it had something to do with her skin condition - who wants to take a bunch of pictures of themselves outside of work when they feel bad? As for Sayu, I'll keep up with her for now, mostly because I like her, the page seems to be popular, and I currently have the time. I do kind of disagree with some of the logic though - practically, we could translate a lot more blogs if we didn't waste time duplicating the work others are doing (when they're doing it well) just to one-up them so to speak. So if in the future for some reason I have less time, she'd be the first to go.

I did court InvisNanto to join b!p right after he started his new site after Hyakupa's breakup. He seemed equally surprised and reluctant about that. I think I left a clear enough message though, and the ball is now in his field to contact us if he's interested.



Sadly I didn't hear anything back for a few days, but can't force anyone you know. I'm still hopeful though. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> At least it's good to know there's no bad blood between us.



As for the logic, I can see TnB's point and it's up to her, but the primary logic of b!p is to have all the blogs translated within one site rather than all over the tubes - so I'd rather sacrifice another blog than Sayu's, since she's our most popular one despite an alternative being available.
