Because who wouldn't want to have their ears cleaned by their favourite idol? (skip to 6:00) And this comes at a mere 300 ticket mark!

If you're interested in a deeper look into the host(ess) scene, "The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief" is an exceptional documentary about it.
It used to be up on YT, but I guess it was taken down.

Namie Amuro's music video for "Golden Touch" is pretty clever.

Her 12th album _genic will be out on June 10.

That's the most fun I've ever had watching a music video. Hehehe, it was so simple but so fun, so props to the directors/producers/etc.

Miori, formerly the youngest member of SweetS, is now the lead singer for a band called LAGOON. They just recently released their second single 'KNOCK OUT BOY':

Nice!

I've been on a Tokyo Girls' Style kick, and as much as I like them, I admit that a small part of me resents them for enjoying the success that I always thought rightfully belonged to SweetS. Juvenile? Yes. Unfair? Absolutely. They just missed the idol group  resurgence by a couple of years, and now a group built essentially in their image is reaping the rewards.

Anyway, TGS's  last single, "Stay With Me," is very reminiscent of latter day SweetS, and hearing it today got me to wondering why none of the SweetS girls stayed in the music business. They are still one of the most talented Jpop idol groups that I've seen -- imagine that group in today's watered down idol world -- and still fairly young, so it seemed odd that not one of them was in the business. Seeing Miyori fronting a Scandal-type band makes me happy.

Here's their first single, "Kimi no Matsu Sekai":

Not staying with it was probably a combination of age and disbanding right when idols we're going out of vogue, since being that young would have just meant being a solo idol. I guess it's also possible that most decided music wasn't for them.

It's a software that "sings" for you. You give it a text and the pitch for it to sing and it does just that.
Hatsune Miku is one of the voices.

Yes. Voice actors or singers record a library of syllables for it and the program puts those together to form words when you give it information. Hatsune Miku is probably the most popular vocaloid, but she wasn't the first.

I believe the software is targeted towards song writers and composers who can't sing and/or don't have singers for their music.

Someone create a free version called Utau, which you can create your own voice banks for. (TnB voiced mine about two years ago.)

Okay, so is there any sort of... discography? Or is all of the music just fanmade sort of stuff using the program? I guess I'm just wondering since I know she was an 'opening act' for Gaga a few years ago;

I remember the one called Luka was voiced by Yuu Asakawa who is one of my fave seiyuus; she would talk about it on that webshow she did about anime.

If I may give you some songs to start with :) :
World in mine is one of her best-known (and I quite like it). Senbonzakura is my favorite (thanks to this cover ; Lindsey Stirling also did a cover) (I know very few songs though)  ; Echo is the only Miku's song one of my friend can stand.

All I needed to hear. Will be investing this promptly.

EDIT: Hm, that has to be the first time I don't prefer Lindsey's cover. Wagakki Band's was better, but still much love for my girl Lindsey.

Wagakki Band's instruments were more fitting for this song, still Lindsey did a great job !

Luka's, Meiko's and Kaito's voices (here!) are really good, in my opinion ! They often sound less "robot-ish" than Miku to me. And I also liked Magnet !

Just popping in my opinion. Kagamine Rin is my favorite because she is so darned cute, but Gumi's voice is my favorite. With some of her songs she can sound very human-ish...also she just has a lot of great songs.

If I didn't know that was written by Tsunku, I wouldn't have even associated it with him until it got to the dance break.

Armor Girls have also released a cover of Les Champs-Elysees. Personally I like their version more than THE Possible's.

Please be joking? :eekrun:

Anyway, she's a singer and voice actress best known as Lynn Minmay from the original Macross series and movie. You're in luck, because it's the universe basically revolving around her songs.

Here's your plan for the weekend, watch the Macross: Do You Remember Love movie, and then wade through all the music and song collections from it. You can start here.

Have fun.

Wasn't joking. I really didn't get into anime until the later 90s stuff. But I love the retro vibe of the song; it reminds me a lot of the older Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo stuff.

Gonna watch the movie this weekend! 8)

Macross!!! <333

Really not at all similar to the feel of the original series or that movie, but Macross Plus is an OVA entry in the franchise later down the road (1990s), and is one of my favorite anime of all time. I still think some of Yoko Kanno's best music came from that mini-series. If you're checking out the Macross universe, I highly recommend it.

EDIT: Oh! But make sure you watch the original 4 episode mini-series and not the highly condensed movie version that was on Netflix for a short while. I've only ever seen the dub version and remember it being just fine, but I'm sure the sub is good too if you wanna watch it that way instead.
